One of the HUD tables in the lower-left display shows energy/fuel usage per lap and could be used for the pitstop calculator.
You do need to be a bit careful due to the way the in-race pit menu in LMU sets the absolute fuel level rather than the increment to top up with… e.g. if you use 4litres per lap (or 5% say in VE terms) and pit with 3.9l / 4.9% left in the tank after having run just a bit harder than planned, that ‘almost lap’ of fuel is wasted and you will need to increase the refuel request by a whole laps worth to compensate.
The good news is that the HUD calculations/measurements do seem accurate and repeatable - what I do is check the remaining VE lap estimate as I pass the pits and try to short-shift etc. until I consistently have 0.1/0.2 etc. laps showing above a full lap.
Oh - and if you haven’t noticed already, a recent change to the HUD shows the live VE of every driver in the positions table top-left (as it does in real life for the teams apparently). You can therefore see what kind of strategy each car is currently on (and any penalties - SG for stop/go, DT for Drive Through) in real time.
