Well, the first report......
The event was fun, the racing was fun and clean for what I saw but the game itself.......utterly disappointing.
The first race, I had some nice fights with Paul C; he was faster and at some point, he made a mistake, I was relieved
Two corners later; I made one and Paul must have been grinning
He and Thomas overtook me.
I was able to get past Thomas, but Paul was far, far away.
Near the end, Paul had about 17 seconds on me and I got (halfway on the track) the "one minute" sign. I had to drive another lap, I knew.
I passed s/f and drove my last lap. Then something went wrong with Paul and I passed him just as he took off again; again a great fight.
We went together into the last right hander and I got slightly in front on the straight; he was left of me and I gave him just enough room not to hit the wall; it were the last few meters so I fought hard. The flag was there, I released the throttle, escaped and saw "DNF" next to my name!!
Someone said we couldn't finish in front of the leader; that's true, but I didn't know where the leader was, had he already finished or not?
The flag shouldn't have been waved than.
Okay, not a big deal as the other cars couldn't take my spot anymore and I wouldn't have been able to keep Paul behind me.
Still; a bit of a dissapointment after the hard fought crossing of the finish.
What happened in the second race was just plane stupid and I hate the game for this, really.
Paul and I were leaving from p1 and 2; I was on the good side and came in front. I think Paul had some traffic holding him up because I had a gap of about 4 seconds, meanwhile all kind of Marussia's overtaking me.
I went on to the straight ( I believe second lap) and all of the sudden; I was flying!!
Replay showed there was a tiny piece of bardgeboard or something like that; it would have cut my tyre probably in real life, but sending me to Mars........pfffff.........again a disappointment by the game. (Looking at the replay again; it was a piece of plastic NEAR my car.....pfffff)
I was doing okay, kept some Marussia's behind me, made few mistakes, drove clean, had fun.....and both races I got screwed over by the game itself.
I mean; come on; how long is this game out (refries; for sale) now? Those things should be priority for people to enjoy this game; NOT making some button in some menu a slightly different color.
People should be able to enjoy the racing itself as the game promotes itself as very realistic........this is not.
Ow well, it was fun and Paul and I were pretty close tonight; we drove the EXACT same qualifying time!! Try to beat us in THAT!!
