Yes, though there are some with this sign at the fast parts that are not so slow.
Another good indicator of a slow turn are barriers.
These are the 70s, not a lot of money going around in southern Italy, so barriers were put after somebody had mistaken the slow bend and went down the mountain the fast way, so a turn with a barrier is usually a lethal place.
Also it pays to observe the traffic signs/warnings (the triangles) of slow bends, they are telling the truth
