Tried it tonight and i do think i can feel a little bit more just like you. In the Eve at Zolder it didn't make me faster but sure more consistant. But i know for sure that i can feel a lot more in the BES mod cars and also in the modern F2 so i think i stick with these settings for a while.

Yes, I was driving the Howston G6 when trying these settings For the EVE at Zolder the difference is very small... The track is so flat and smooth somehow, but there was a little improvement.

I finally tried it yesterday, and yes, I didn't feel much difference in the car behaviour as (as you said) the surface is almost flat here. It feels like go-karting in a polished concrete track.
