As I understand Tim Wheatley posted that the problem is how servers are named, if they have symbols like ! or @ etc.
But then some of ISI servers are unavailable too, some arent.
Go figure..

Just did read this.....don't know if it works but :Smile

From testing it seems that the longer a server is online the more chance of it being harder to join. I went and rebooted all my servers earlier after not being able to join and was able to straight away. So server admin give your servers a clean restart (not just load a new track). Close the exe and start it again and people will find it easier to join. (posted by RJames over at ISI forums)

I had not been able to join SR4L server since yesterday... Tried everyting: refresh, reinstalling mods, restarting pc etc. Then I was just browsing the servers, clicking on all "simracingteam.de" servers. First, all their servers were appearing with a space in their server name (simracingteam.de 1), but when clicking on them, some of them spaces changed to "_" instead and then I could join them. For some of them (I think they have 5 severs) I had to click 2-3 times before the space was changed to a "_" and I could join them too. After a few clicks, all the servers were joinable. Then I searched SR4L server up and clicked on it, and I could join it straight away... From being totally impossible for one day. Really strange.

Btw, someone thinks he has the solution http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/18...post253013

Hedlund Wrote:Today I was practicing with build 382 and I really noticed that the FFB feeling is much better because the "minimum torque" doesn't excist. I can feel the road much better. With 494 it's like a static spring regardless off FFB multiplier. So I'm not sure what I prefer, to use the "minimum torque" and no deadzone, or to feel the road better but with a huge deadzone...

I was looking at the controller.ini and found this line:
Steering torque extrap blend="0.00000" // Higher blends of extrapolated value allows driver to feel torque changes even when actual torque exceeds 'input max' (0.0=disables, 1.0=max)

I now have it set to 0.500000 and I think it feels better. I can feel more variation in the FFB in the corners.
Can you guys who are using "steering torque minimum" try this and tell me if you feel any difference? You might want to lower in-game ffb multiplier a little bit because I think it increased ffb strengh just slightly.

I have Steering torque minimum set to 0.05 atm, I don't want to use higher.

Tried it tonight and i do think i can feel a little bit more just like you. In the Eve at Zolder it didn't make me faster but sure more consistant. But i know for sure that i can feel a lot more in the BES mod cars and also in the modern F2 so i think i stick with these settings for a while.

Yes, I was driving the Howston G6 when trying these settings Smile For the EVE at Zolder the difference is very small... The track is so flat and smooth somehow, but there was a little improvement.

couldn't get in..

hey guys..
couldn't get in last night - even trying rikard's fix. funny, I got other track's to come up, but NOT SR4L! Wink ain't that the way it is..

also, things noticed sunday :
Parc Ferma is still on, if this is on for this Sunday's race, you better make sure you have your good setup in "BEFORE" you go out to qualify, or too bad :o

and, how the heck do you go 1:31.999???? do you got Nitro in there? ;D

I finally tried it yesterday, and yes, I didn't feel much difference in the car behaviour as (as you said) the surface is almost flat here. It feels like go-karting in a polished concrete track.

What did you think about the "minimum torque" thing? Got rid of the deadzone? Wink I guess we have to set it to at least 0.1 - 0.2 to really get rid of the deadzone, but that's not really an option...
There should be some better solution. Maybe this "minimum torque" could apply only to the first 5 degrees of the steering, so we don't loose so much of the small FBB forces.

Btw, perfect description of Zolder. Go-kart on polished concrete Tongue Feels a bit wierd tbh. But IIRC Essington, Snetterton or Putnam wasn't much better.

When the Kart mod comes out, then I guess we will all be experts at it.

Still no joy with getting on the server.

Considering the track and it short straights and as I couldn't find the time to do more than 5-6 laps and try different values Sad.... I'll have a more detailed opinion on friday when I'll be able to do some more testing.

@RikH, When your USR league downgraded to old build for last weeks league race what was the problem, was the button still greyed out?

Still all grey at SR4L.

Not sure about USR the 494 server was already gone, I installed 382 especially and the race was postponed anyway.

The SR4L server, for me, seems to be about the most stubborn server out there for joining, other servers I can sometimes get lucky on after a while but SR4L-1 is totally impossible.

Can't believe ISI did not put out a new 494 with just purely the Join button fixed, which they fixed the code for over the weekend, on Monday or at the latest tuesday. Seems they want to put out a build with other stuff in it too, another mistake in my view on top of the mistakes already made, nobody can play the game, they should have got that Join button fixed pronto if nothing else, seems they want to put more that what is essential and immediately required in the next build, so we gotta wait longer for what is essential and immediately required. If they do not do it by Thursday they are crazy.

Just gotta say, as a mere player, I have to take the rough with the smooth with ISI, and it does try my patience sometimes no matter how great the sim is, which it is. The ballache caused to all the league admins out there tho is exponentially higher, I send my heartfelt gratitude to SR4L admins, and all the other admins out there.

No, the join button worked fine, but the problem was that some of us got "connection lost" instead when trying to join (inclusive admin-Matt, so maybe that's why the race was postponed :Smile) But right decision, imo.

SR4L server was grey a very long time for me too. Did you read how I "solved" it? Try to click on those simracingteam.de servers! First some of them are greyed out, but continue to click on them and you'll see that space in the server name is suddenly replaced by an underscore and you can join them. When JOIN button worked for all simracingteam.de servers, I could join SR4L too. Very strange... but try it Tongue lol

Thanks for the replys. Tried again doing as you say, still no joy.
It is odd how I can get on all of the "! simracingteam" servers but.

It's Marcel, he's banned me for overtaken him in the championship Big Grin.
