Thanks for tonight guys
I had fun, as always.I had no idea how good my race pace was. Not so much practice before the weekend and saturday I could barely get up because I was sick. Fortunately I was able to practice on friday, and today (thanks to the pain killers). I knew 2:10 was possible and a few hours before qualify I managed 2:10.9. I was not sure how fast the other drivers were, but Robert only 3 tenths slower so I expected a very tough qualify session. QUALIFY Went out early and my very first lap was 2:10.7. Really good already and I managed to improve it to 10.4 later. No one was even close to beat that which surprised me a little First pole this season 8)RACE 1 Bad start, I had no grip at all. Felt like the rear tires were spinning on the white lines. Gorka or DJ was close behind in the braking for T1 but I braked late... a little to late maybe, but I managed to hold on to 1st place through the first corners and while Rob, Gorka and DJ was fighting for 2nd I could run away and build up a comfortable lead. Robert finally took 2nd place and when we entered pit by the end of lap 7, he was a few seconds behind. 48 seconds, quite good. But of some reason I was a bit distracted when I was about to leave pit and recieved a stop and go penalty!!! Oh, I was so pissed off :p I decided to push as hard as I could to be able to make it top 10 at least after my stop and go. Actually I managed to improve my pole laptime but then I made a little mistake and ran wide into the gravel and lost 3-4 seconds. I was quite dissappointed when I finished 2 seconds behind Coyne and Gorka at last, knew that it could have been 3rd despite my penalty :p RACE 2 Started from 7th I think, but it should have been 5th. Anyway, a bad start once again and I saw DJ overtake me before T1. But I decided to go on the outside and that was the right choice. By the end of first lap I was in the lead and could once again build up a comfortable lead. This time I made no mistakes at all. 47 seconds pitstop, no speeding. Finished 18 seconds in front of Robert who took 2nd place. Finally both Hedlunds in the top!

20:58 finally i had time to fire up the pc.....due to father's day we had the parents of my wife over and her sister with kids blablabla.....bbq again was nice.
Nevertheless i managed to join the server right in time to do 2 laps in warm up before race 1...so no quali time set and obviously starting last on the grid. In the weeks before i did lots of laps on this track but never was able to even come close to DJC's or David Hart's laptimes but in the training races i looked pretty consistent so i hoped i could be consistent in the real events also. Race 1 Had a reasonable start and after 5 laps i had gained 8 positions my strategy was pitting in the 7th lap. Going into pit i was in 8th position but i fell a sleep in the pit and missed the end of service time completely. Had a 48 sec stop but i think i was aware that i could take off again after 52 seconds [blink][big]OMG :-[[/big][/blink]. I aimed for a 10th finish which would give me a pole start for the second race but i only managed to finish 11th. But nevertheless was happy with the result gaining 9 places.Race 2 Somehow the reversed grid didn't work out that well (no offence Paul wasn't your fault) so started 16th, and due to the question asked for doing it all over again in chat i messed up my start a little. But my pace was good and i managed to get to 6th position in lap 6. After pitting (this time staying awake 8)) i regained the race in position 10 and one lap later i was in 6th again. stayed there till the end of the race. Again happy with the result gaining 10 places and scoring points for the team. Which leads me to this: I really missed Hector (my teamy) and Marcel Wiegers (my dutchy) i know both of them did have a argument after last race at Brianza. Guys come on both off you are really friends of all of us and without you guys it still is fun but somehow i really really mis something :'( and i know i'm not the only one. So i hope both of you will come back and race with us again :-\ Thanks to all for again a great night of racing and thanks Paul for hosting. Had a fun time

Nice words about Marcel and Hector, Ed.
There is no stopping the Hedlund duo. Think they will run away with the season, no one can stop them. I can always try but, ha .Had fun both races. Had a few bumps with people on the way but. 2nd place first race, 4th second race, not too bad. Had a speeding ticket 2nd race, but was lucky I could enter and exit without loosing any places. Silverstone (1 Hr Event) next, that will be a hard one. DJC

hey guys..
qually i finally got into the 1:15's Yeah, trouble was Rikard got into the 10's - you guys got to stay still so we can catch ya :-\ race one, went alright, until the pit stop - was wanting to keep pace with Jesus who pitted right before i did, so when my pit stop was done i smashed the throttle. well, you got to remember the pit speed limit - penalty! ??? according to results above i finished 16th, but i did finish. codo's to Teammate for his 12th - Way to go tim! race two, was up to 10th on the outside of turn 2 - i don't think jim seen me or he was fighting something and i got tagged into the grass and sent jim flying over me. as i came back on track, riding on the white line along side cosimo, edwin moved over, not knowing that cosimo couldn't go anywhere and cosimo became the meat of a BT20 sandwich - he looped in front of me and we both hit the guardrail. my car was twichy from then on. managed to get 12th and tim finished 16th. we BOTH finished! Yeah, are plan of wearing down the hedlund's is working. the pressure of our charge made Rikard sick with worry 8) Marcel and Hector - we miss ya - come back ![]() on to silverstone....... seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ya -- jer

jerry 33 Wrote:hey guys.. I'm really sorry about the contact, Jerry. I did not see you at all. :-[ I ended up with damage to my right front and left rear, which I nursed along for most of the race. I was reluctant to stop because I figured my crew would want to fix all the damage. When I finally pitted, it turns out the damage was only to the tires and the stop was only 46 seconds. I should have stopped right away, as it turned out. Great fun racing with all of you. I was very impressed with the way everyone was being careful of cars around them in the first turns at the start. A big shout out to Nikos for being so helpful ... not to mention the great looking skin. If you have a minute, look up Al Pease, a Canadian racer who just died recently. There are some interesting stories about him, and a couple interviews.

Here's my report.
Qualy ------- My best in this track was a 2:12.1 so getting a 2.11.9 was not too bad. Still far away from the Hedlunds. I managed to get a +0.3 at the second sector from the pole but at the 3rd sector I was losing too much time there and having lots of understeer in those curves. Race 1 --------- At warmup I made a very bad decision. In order to try and battle my lap-increasing understeer I decided to set the front Anti Roll Bar 4 points softer. This seem to work fine at the warmup. But at the race, even making a very good start and going from 4th to 2nd at turn1, the car's rear was all over the place. Car was undriveable oversteering in every corner. I started losing lot's of time and even got a spin, finding myself in 8th place. Thinking in what I could do to fix that I decided to pit earlier and add more fuel than programed to try to make the rear a little more stable. Well, that seemed to work and had a little less oversteery car. Thanks to the earlier pitstop I recovered positions on fresher tires and after Rikards stop&go I found myself in third place. Sweaty battling the car and having D coyne in my mirrors I was able to make it to the finish line in a podium position. Race2 ------- Going back to pre-warmup setup I made a clean start in 9th place and I was lucky to get through the outside line of turn1 and gain a few positions there. I quickly found myself in 3th place with Rikard leading, Dave Hart a couple of seconds ahead and a couple of seconds behind DjC defending from the constant attack from Robert. At the end of lap 5 Dave, me and DjC went to our pitstops. I had a quick one (47seconds) and managed to get ahead of them with a 5 sec gap to David. The next lap Robert went out of his pitstop 3 sec behind me so the remaining 6 laps were the toughest I've ever had here. Seing Robert closer and closer. with 3 laps to the end he was already on my tail and we had such a superb clean battle to the end. I was feeling the drops of sweat going through my face. Holding Rob was a major effort and finally at the final lap he overtook me and I had nothing to do but finish after him in 3rd place. Anyway it was a good finish position, again on the podim and after the Hedlunds who seem to be on fire. Modern Silverstone coming up. As a type of track similar to Sepang (very wide track, similar type of corners) we expect the H brother to be really quick again, and also a high motivated Cruicky racing home. I hope to get a better result than last yeat disastreous ride there (I really dislike the modern version compared to the superb 90s Silverstone) Here's a video of the first 2 laps of race 2 from my point of view P.S.: having shoulder pain (muscles tired) after race1 battling such an oversteery car.

I really hope that both Marcel and Hector have better reasons for not racing with us than the incident at Brianza. Shit like that happens all the time, to all of us.
Btw, no penalties or warnings has been handed out since Croft last season! Warnings and penalties should definitely be handed out to a few drivers after Brianza.

After a terrible weekend at Monza, Malaysia was the next race in line.
Didn't have much practice and my only practice laps were on a more or less green track where I had to fight to manage a 2:19.X. So when I checked the live timing before yesterdays race and saw the fastest lap being a 2:10.X I wasn't very optimistic. Malaysia not being one of my favorites didn't help either. Joined sever at the end of practice session and asked for setup and my teammate (David Hart) was so nice to send me his. Also somone else sent his setup, but can't remember who (sorry /: ) , but thanks ![]() David's setup was awesome and really suited my style of driving. It was so much fun going round that I even started to like Malaysia So big thanks to David!First lap being a 2:14.2 restored my confidence and managed a 2:12.2 at the end which put me in 5. spot, right in front of my teammate, so great Qualy for Team SpRindt!. The feeling of the car and my pace in Qualy made me optimistic for the race too. 1. Race Lost some places at start and found myself behind my teammate. Lot of fights going on in first lap and going into last turn I tried to overtake my teammate who went a bit wide. I chose a tight line but didn't anticipate the lack of grip I would find on the inside of the turn. Lost car under acceleration which send me into the inside wall doing damage to suspension. So went for early pit-stop but soon realised I didn't make myself familiar with pit-entry. Missed it once driving in no-man's-land and second attempt wasn't good either but at least I managed to pit. 78secs due to damage. Tried to do some good laps afterwards which I manged ok, having a few mistakes. Found myself behind Cosimo near end of race and due to him making a mistake I managed to get by in 12 spot. But he was right behind me going into last lap. Second corner he propably didn't think I would slow down that much and he touched my rear. Not much contact but just enough to send me spinning. He immediately stopped and waited for me to recover and let me retake the place, great move by Cosimo and big thanks :-* So managed to get 12 place in the end, not really what I hoped for, but was fun nevertheless David made it to 6. place grabbing good points for our team! Well done teammate 8)2. Race Due to reversed grid not working for some reason I found myself in fourth place but with chatting going on if we start like this my concentration dropped. Moved car before green, not much but was expecting a jump-start penalty but I didn't get one. When it went green I totally messed up start giving drivers behind me hard time getting by, sorry guys /: Think my teammate was right behind me and he did great to avoid my slow car! Lot of fighting going on through first corners and I had a perfect view of David Coyne (I think) having a BIG slide at 6. corner which he managed to recover, well done 8). Fighting for position I lost another place and found myself behind slower cars. Not really confident with overtaking I decided to pit early and try to get some fast laps. Now one would assume I used Warm-Up of second race to make myself familiar with pit-entry. Well, I didn't ;D This struck me while driving towards last corner and yeah I missed pit-entry again, running in the gravel. Next lap I managed a (for my standard) perfect pit-entry, 48sec stop and a clean track in front of me. Now was the time to push and make up for the lost time. Succeeded in doing so until lap 8 where I lost the rear of car going into turn 12 and had to run real wide, cost me a few seconds. But got back to speed right away and due to other drivers doing there pitstop gained back position after position. Found myself behind my teammate after he recovered from an incident going into turn 1. He pitted at the end of the lap and I once again had a clear track in front of me. Edwin got out ~4s behind me after his pit-stop, him being the guy in front of me before my pit-stop so it seemed that my strategy had worked. At this point I found myself in 5. place 18s behind DJC. Him having a drive-through the gap went down to 5s but I never found myself in position to challenge him. So 5. place in the end a bit disappointment as I probably could have made it to 4. without pit-entry mistake and going wide. But happy to get some points in at least ![]() Thanks Paul for hosting and I have to say I'm really impressed by the level of awareness for other cars shown throughout the race and especially first few corners! Great stuff ![]() And one other thing that impresses me every time is watching the fast guys (Rikard, Robert, Marcel (hope he will be back soon) and so on) doing their qualy-laps. They look so at ease with the car, not fighting it, calm driving but impressively fast! Awesome guys

I just can't believe Marcel hasn't been around because of his incident in Brianza. We've been in higher controversies and discussions and he's always been around here. About, race penalties, admins won't review races searching for penalties. If they receive an email containing someone's complain about something happening during the race then they'll check it and see if there some penalty to be made. Anyway, Brianza was a track prone for incidents, it's the first race, everyone is more nervous than usually.... I think in Sepang the race has been cleaner (at least from what I've seen in race)

I wasn’t looking forward to this race as I dislike low grip tracks , for me it spoils the racing , I spend more time trying to beat the car and track rather than the other drivers and dare not get in close just incase I take someone out .
Race 1 Started ok and no drama,s on the first corner , I was chasing Dave and Christof and stayed that way until christof took too much kerb on the last corner and lost speed , I passed him and chased Dave , tried to stay close to him but was finding he had better traction out of the corners but I had the better braking going into the corners , there was no way I was going to get past him , when he went for his stop I decided to stay out and see if I could get track position , but I couldn’t really get faster lap times than I was doing , made my stop and came out behind Dave and Gorka , Dave unluckily went wide at turn 4 and I went through , I tried to chase down Gorka but there wasn’t enough laps left , finished 4th Race2 I got caught out slightly at the start with the quick discussion on grid places , went into first corner and felt a touch with someone , after that my rear end felt mega loose , going into turn 6 the car just went sideways managed to hold it but lost it at the next corner , I thought I had a puncture but nothing showed up so decided to drive on , had lost loads of places so I just pushed but the car did not feel right , pitted early and after that the car was behaving , just got my head down and tried to make positions , started to chase Ed in the closing stages but he was driving well and I was never going to get past. A good nights racing with a great turnout , great driving by everyone I saw very few incidents . Thanks Paul great job .
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

After good preparation, my plan was to stay out of trouble and race one went according to plan. 7th place. No incidents.
Race two not so much. Very rough T1 so not sure reverse grid and/or fast guys charging through T1 is best idea. Also got hit by someone re-entering track exactly at track out for T4 so no way to avoid. Then got hit again on T14 again with no way to avoid. Still got 8th so not bad considering. That's racing, however, and great fun nonetheless and so great to be back at Malaysia and also very much looking forward to 1 hour race at Silverstone. See you guys there
