Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to round 12 - Season 4 of our Historic's League, the final round of our Brabham season. This round sees us at Circuit de la Sarthe, the world's oldest active sports car race in endurance racing, done perfectly by the track masters [Virtua_LM].

This race will really test your endurance skills, just stay calm and patient, finishing here is certain to make you smile for the feat accomplished

As this is going to be our longest race since, please help so none misses finish because of fuel.

Fast guys do close to 4:10, that gives us about 30 laps.
I did 5.8 laps with 24L, this figures to 4.1L per lap.
So, whole race could be 123L, DJC proposes 140L, and I find this safe too.

Please give feedback on this.

Doesn't car weight affect fuel consumption at all? You say 4.1L per lap with 24L. But with 140L the consumption will still be the same despite heavier car? That's unrealistic rf2 :p But makes things a lot easier...lol.

My car was very rear end happy with all that fuel. Ed, what do I need to do?

Things that would be good:-
1) Mechanical failures off. Please please Paul So my brakes don't fail, or my engine go pop.
2) Clouds in the sky, give us some different settings throughout the long race.
3) Race start at 1pm, but set time multi to x4 so race ends at 9pm when you get some nice sun shinning on road and long shadows. Picture at 9pm below:-

4) I do like the 2 hour cut off, instead of laps. If we all crashing with damage, race could go on for ever . If we going with that, to all, make sure the guy in 1st place crosses the finish line 1st. Even if you see the timer run out of time to zero, you need to check 1st place guy has finished, if not you need to do another lap.

Lower your corner speed.
Stay of the throttle.
Follow me, in other words let me in front
Get yourself a good mechanic

:

Pay me more and i will provide you with a better set, 24 hour layout of the Ring would be a good start 8)
Tell me more about when the car is tailhappy;
While cornering in: you could stiffen front springs (makes car less grippy at front more understeer)
Mid corner on throttle: bit more camber at rear or more differential lock power.

About fuel usage, have to look into that tomorrow. Drunk now so not good in maths :o

My car is a bit oversteery too in race fuel but starts to balance as laps go by, being a bit understeery at lower fuel. So I think it's fine that way.

About laps, I calculated 29 laps considering an avg 50 seconds lost in the pits.
My fuel burnt is around 4.3-4.4 liters per lap So I rounded it at 4.5. Depending on how I get (if i don't crash) to half race pitstop I may add extra liters for the second stint.

Race is set for 2 Hr not laps so keep going untill you see the chequered flag!!

Race starts at 13:00 and set to X4 time scale so race will finish at 21:00 (DJC's Idea )
