I'm really tired, but this was probably my best racing-weekend in this season so far
![]() Quali: ------- 4th place with a new personal best, maybe could have made it to 3rd place as I had a good last lap but blew the last chicane. Race 1: --------- Good start and up to 3rd place behind David and Ramon. Followed Ramon closely and had a good run going into the hairpin choosing the inside line but he defended well. Next lap same thing, I braked later than him and gave him a little bump, sorry /: He turned a bit going through the hairpin but other than losing some time nothing happened. Andi got closer though and overtook me going into the last chicane as I was missing some topspeed Ramon crashed soon after and I was in 3rd place again, Andi in front of me and my teammate David behind.David had good pace and got closer and I missed my braking point going into last chicane at one point. So I had to cut it and with David closely behind and me not being up to speed as I slowed down while cutting I decided to give him the inside line going into the first corner (the right kink) to let him by. Unfortunately I think my car warped right in front of him cause he thought he hit me /: All I saw was him crashing for no obvious reason. I didn't feel a hit and he realistically couldn't have hit me as I was way out of line ... of course if a car appears in front of one, one does react. Really bad luck for David ): but he recovered nicely for a 5th place finish 8) Rest of my race was quite entertaining as I was close behind Andi after the pitstop and could put some pressure on him. Missed out on having a real shout for a pass just a bit and after some laps dropped of. Great racing that was though, thanks Andi! Rest of race was quiet and I finished 3rd. Podium ;D Race 2 -------- Good start, crazy first lap ... stayed out of most of trouble and was right behind my teammate after the first lap. Some hairy moments with crashing cars right in front of us but we stayed both out of trouble. After some laps he then ran wide allowing me to get by. Rest of the race was me trying to stay in front of him, doing good laps and he answered them. He got really close at some occasions. When it was time for pitstops my plan was to do one more lap than he does as I was fast enough to keep in front of him and there was no traffic ahead. Well, he just didn't pit, so he maybe had the same plan in mind Anyway, my tires being a bit ruined (flat-spot) I decided to pit anyway. He stayed out for one more lap. Think it was the right call in the end as the fresh tires made quite a difference. Had around 2.5 seconds on him after the pit-stop. The gap would get down do about one second till the end of race with him getting close again. But I made it, 2nd place, awesome 8) And a 2-3 for team Cog Crunchers, MORE AWESOME ^_^ Great team performance all weekend, just in time as other teams got closer.

My first podium here! 8)
Race 1: Starting from P3, the start was a rather cool affair at the front (compared to the frantic actions I am used to witness in the midfield) and I was happy to let Christian and Ramon have their fight. Luckily, I could overtake both of the cleanly quite early. Ramon fell by the wayside soon after that, and Christian was soon too far back to be of concern. So I was cruising along with good pace. After the pitstop I found Mr. Pucher much closer and glued to my rear for most of the second stint. I managed to stay in front by using my secret superpowers concentration levels never seen on a simulated race track before. In the closing laps, the gap increased again, so I could wipe some of the sweat off my forehead and cross the line in second place. I was happy. In contrast, Race 2 is nothing to write home about. Starting from my well earned P9, it was mayhem in the opening laps for me. Losing it in the breaking zone for the hairpin and collecting some better behaved gentlemen in the process was just the beginning of a downward spiral with two more incidents, including rolling my car. Finally, I was visiting the pits for an expensive 120 second repair appointment. After that, it was damage control, but P14 was the best I could do. Andi

Great to read your reports, people.
Finally, following my wife's wise advise I decided to rest my wrist to avoid any further injuries. I Will see you next race in Laguna Seca.

Qually
Went out on low fuel but car did not lap as well as it did in race trim , came in and topped up went back out and claimed 5th spot . Race 1 Got a great start and made up a place before 1st corner then threw it away at turn 5 when I had a tank slapper , chased after Christof and slowly started to pull him back as his tyres went away , I could see I had him on top end and brakes but he had the better traction out of the corners , he locked up going into last corner and had to go striaght on , I had the speed on the straight so decided to go past , he looked to be conceding the place so I thought we were ok , next minute I was flying through the air and I thought I must have misjudged my position and cut him up so we made contact , I checked the replay and it was a warp , we came along the track alongside each other but with almost a cars width between us , then Christofs car moved sideways into me , he went end over end and landed facing the right way ,i rolled over the barrier to face the wrong way in the pit lane , turned around and rejoined but had lost a place to Cookie , did my pitstop and was again behind Cookie , chased after him but I was overdriving and loosing time on him , I eventually got my act together and closed him down and got my self into position where I should have been able to draft him down the back striaght , sods law I got clutch slip out of he hairpin and couldnt get near him but I still finished a lucky 5th . Race 2 Got a good start but was boxed in so I had to lift and drop in behind Tim , stayed this way until exit of turn 7 where Tim lit his tyres up and allowed me to pass him into 8 , approaching the hairpin a car flew past just missing me but taking out Cookie who was just in front , I dropped in behind DJ and followed him , managed to avoid an accident when it kicked of on the next lap and found myself in 2nd place behind DJ , I new there was no chance of staying with him so just tried to keep Chris behind me , made a mistake going into turn 3 and Chris got through , chased him but could not get into position for a safe pass , I was fueled for 12 laps so I thought stay with him and try to make position when he pits , unfortunately he also had a lot of fuel when he did pit I couldnt take advantage as I caught traffic, after my stop I was still behind him so elected to grab the points I had and not try any silly moves . A great nights racing and good fun , Paul, Nikos – Gorka great job thank you - BIG slap to my face how could i forget to thank Bullwinkle for a very fast results service :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

qauli- Tim was dogging me all week with lap times so my goal was to get ahead of him on the grid- i needed a pb 138 to get there and made it - started 6th
race 1 was uneventful - i gained places as a couple of drivers had incidents - i wound up in 4th about half race with coyne chasing me for the duration and through the pitstop- i was sweating bad- he was faster and kept threatening - i could tell he was pushing and making just enough mistakes to not get past but it was intense - race 2- i got creamed by i dont know who - at the hairpin on lap 1 - dropped to last place - i got into the back of tim following him around -he must have figured i was going to crash him eventually and moved over - later i had contact with miller and he ultimately moved over - this track is very hard to get by slower traffic- sorry for the bumps fellas. i got all the way back to 5th place somehow i managed to keep 2nd in the standings- but i can feel them breathing down my neck for that spot - Several drivers are poised to take over ...... |
