The field was a little small. Possibly due to the sad news of the week. Maybe due to F1 in Canada. I had two fun races finishing mid-pack as I always do. Apologies to Edwin for my bonehead recovery at T1 in the second race. I thought it would scoot across the track a little faster than it did. But stupid move no doubt. I'm real glad you made it through. And to John Cook, I was trying to leave room. Sorry we touched. Glad you got back on track quickly.

I could hear Edwin's horn as he went by. Too funny! I've never heard of a horn on a purpose built race car. Reminded me of driving in Italy!

err yes, I remember fierce discussions about that, racing cars having a horn.
At the end of the day we all accepted it was fun honking

LOL....sorry i used the horn but i thought Ohw My what is he doing.....

As i didn't practice at all around here i thought it was going to be a bad result around here.
But i wanted to participate because i wanted to show my respect to E.V. (Manny) and i think we did!!!

So quali didn't turn out to be that good.....and i was thinking phew those guys are fast.

Race 1

Had a nice clean start and had a nice fight going on with Rick Nauman, Rick was faster then me on straights but in the corners my car looked more stable. All due to set-up me thinks but anyway i could stay in front until one lap Rick managed to outbreak me but i didn't see it happening (blush) so i steered in and clipped Rick. No harm done but then both of us ran into mayhem just around the corner. Rick bumped into Jerry or Tim and i lucky bastard i am, i managed to get true unharmed giving me a 4th spot all of a sudden. later a went from being 4th to 3rd and i didn't know what was going on (DC out of race due to accident when entering pit). But the fun really began after my pitstop 11th lap.
I came out of pit just behind John and we had a nice fight going on till the end of the race. Loved it John you drove so well and clean but got me sweaty all over..... ;D

Race 2

Start position 7th. clean start again but in lap 1 i clipped my teamy Nikos in the slowest corner of the track (is it T8?) putting us both in the gravel. Didn't wait for Nikos which i am ashamed of now i am typing this .......once more really sorry Nikos.
Race wasn't as exiting as first one but nevertheless great fun and guess what......yup finishing in front of John making me very proud...... 8)

Loved the formation Lap for Manny, nice gesture by all, I hope he liked it as well
qually went well and I quess the number for me for the day was 5 - that is what I qualified at and both races finished at..
first race there was a schmozel in front of me - I seen cookie going sideways, then I got sideways and everybody behind us said - oh NO! sorry about that to all - I landed up right in front of tim and he had no where to go, tried to get out of the way and got hit again which resulted in a very bad set of flat spotted tires. pitted and ended up in - you guessed it - 5th.
second race started better but soon had the bumble bees behind me - I tried holding them off, but to no avail - those buggers got by.. (speaking of buggers - where was you at Mel :o ) came out of pits with fresh set of tires behind tim and tried getting Mr. Bullwinkle to make a mistake - he is just too good for that and I finished behind him - good points for the team and good drive Tim. he finished 4th sooooooooooooo.......... that made me 5th - AGAIN!

Sad I couldn't join the formation lap in memory of E.V. Phelps. I was away from home the whole weekend.

Race 1

had a good start and chased DJ into first corner , he locked his brakes and slid out wide so I said thanks very much and dived underneath him , we stayed this way for a few laps but I could see DJ was far better on the brakes than me(i have got to work on that) and was reeling me in , he caught me at the end of the main straight and passed under braking , I couldnt match his pace so he slowly pulled away from me ,
Pitstop time came and I was way too aggressive on the approach , I lost the backend on the turn in to pit lane , I caught the slide but collected the outside wall and missed the pit entry , had to do another lap with a damaged car , that cost me 2nd and gave me a 90s stop , came out 9th and managed to move up to 6th by race finish .

Race2

Got a great start and passed 3 cars before first corner then passed Tim into 2 and that got me the lead , I thought I would push to see if I could get a good gap before DJ picked his way through the traffic , unfortunately all I did was overdrive and wear my tyres more quickly , after a few laps DJ arrived on my tail , so decided to pit and get fresh rubber , Dj did the same .
Came out of the pits and I managed to hold him off for a couple of laps but he got me into 6 , after that I followed him home .

Great racing all and good fun .

It was a very nice touch to see everyone take part in the formation lap in rememberance of Manny , if he was watching I hope he enjoyed the racing .
