Great Paul.

Hmm, I was on the server once Friday and it says 27 laps. There were up to 13 drivers at one time. Lot of newbies who were pretty reckless

In a practice race at Spa today I got into a wreck with IsR threesquares. I figures I dive-bombed him and cut the corner. Judge for yourself.

As I see it, you would be both dead IRL if you both pushed that way.

Now, I dont remember drivers being killed by pairs in the 60s, so, you are not simulating real life racing, you are both simulating suicide attitude imho.

Yes indeed! Good answer. Fortunately this was practice for a fun race in a public rF2 server so is pretty far removed from reality. The smart thing to do would be for one to lift and follow the other. Who is going to chicken out? I posted this because it is a good example of a situation bound to occur in tomorrow's race. Forewarned is forearmed.

But three hit you why is there a ?

he is on the race line - in real life or in a sim you would have/should have chickened out because you did not effect the pass before the corner and despite being slightly ahead you used the inside line to block his path to the apex- if you dont pass someone on that straight and get the racing line back you need to back off its not safe at those very fast corners
besides that you did the pass all wrong - you should have been going 140mph about the time his car was at 135mph but you pulled out of the draft too soon - i think he is bumpnjg you to try and tell you that he is there and you have not passed him and will next be blocking his route to the apex -

i made a couple crazy passes too in that race but its not wise on this track - need to pass on the straight or you end up blocking someone route to the apex

Great racing with you, cookie and Dan. Very close and very clean. I backed out at one point, knowing I had the gearing to re-pass later. Your tap on my gearbox at the end of the race won it for me, cookie. ??? Always a pleasure racing with you. Wink

Bit sad about Sunday's race. Done loads of practice, even managed to get minimal damage from 1st corner crash, but got hit from behind bracking for corner before run-up to La Source, and got shunted over fence. No way back so had to leave and go iRacing.

...been waiting for the Race Report thread to pop up so I could publicly apologize to you for punting you over the fence! That was SO friggin' lame Sad

I didn't quite have the speed to overtake you before the last section of turns, so I figured I'd tuck in behind you and play it safe until we got past au rouge.
Going into the last turn, you lifted a bit more than I would have expected. I slammed on my brakes & yanked the wheel to the side, but still smacked you.

My bad all the way.

I stopped outside the hairpin to wait for one of the cows to help you over the fence and back onto the course, but after a minute or so it was obvious you were stuck there forever.

My apologies for that. I'll buy you a couple of pints when we arrive in Longford Smile
When in doubt, pass out.
