Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to our 2018 spring season.
In this league we will race the BT20. This classic car has a great balance between speed and car control. Great to race around the best classic tracks.
This first round will take place at Kyalami. This classic track has witnessed some of the great moments in F1 history. Easy to learn but hard to master.
SR4L wishes you good luck for the season.

Remember fuel multiplier is set to X7.
You will have to plan well your pitstop strategy + find the propper balance of the car between being light and heavy.

Give us some feedback on the car and the practice, mainly with the new fuel multiplier.
I won't be able to practice till race day. This season's effort will be to finish in the top 10 overall. :'(

The car feels fine on the heavier fuel load and there appears no appreciable increase in tyre wear , i think the main problems will be in quali , with only 10 mins all cars will be on track so there will need to be a lot of co-operation between us all .
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it
How does the fuel x work out and is it on the server during practice and quallied to :-\
only I did a few laps and my fuel wasn't far out ?

About qualy: Server can be fixed for only 3 laps per driver and at the same time the session could be fixed to 30 min or something different.
In this way all drivers will have 30 min to try their single lap atempt and anyone that try more laps will be disqualified.

I got around 9 liters per lap on a 10 laps training. 1 sec. slower per lap and 55 sec. average per pit stop

I suggest once you have completed your timed lap and crossed the line then you pull over to the right and esc , dont do a lap in , this will help keep the minimum cars ontrack at same time.
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it
Good idea dace

For qualification, have you consider "private qualify"?
Very simple and fast solution used in many leagues with single fast lap.

Yes this would be the better option , otherwise it may become a bit chaotic

Private quali would be the best option in my opinion too. 15 drivers trying to do a flying lap within 10 mins will get busy.
Or setting the session longer so you have to pick your gap is the only other option.
I will set the server with private quali for this race to try it. If it’s no good we can then try the longer session option.

I won't be able to practice till race day. This season's effort will be to finish in the top 10 overall. :'(
in brief:
Fuel Multiplier is bad. Have to stop anyway. Now every lap will be with different car mass.
Required stop is bad. Pits will be jammed up. Pit stop not part of historic GP.
Private Qualifying is required with the 3 lap limit.

Oh, come on guys. Private qualifying kills all the "joy" in the new qualifying system. Drivers struggling for a gap in a 10 minute session and a single attempt. That is what the purpose of that system is about.

You shoud have finished saying "Despite all of that, everything is fine".
I'll try to explain if someone didn't get my point with the fuel multiplier.
It helps for different strategies. Do you want to start lighter, gain some places, pit earlier and then defend yourself during race? Do you preffer to start heavy, avoid trouble, pit late and then jump in with fresher tires for the end? Or maybe you preffer to calculate your pitstop by the middle of race length and go for equal stints?
Depending on the strategies, lighter cars can meet heavier cars during 2/3 of the race, causing more battles and overtakes on track.
About things being or not part of historic GP.
If it was for me we would race more in the historic way. That would mean no virtual mirrors, mechanical damage on, and races lasting almost 3 hours with no mandatory pitstop. But, we must fit to what is best for our members (that's why we do so many polls).

Mechanical damage on is a great idea! This engine will fail if abused when shifting!!
Fresh tires? The tires will barely show any wear. Instead you have a lap where they are not warm enough and have noticeably less grip.
I am really confused by your attitude. Instead of the races being solely a test of skill, you wish to introduce important challenges which are mostly governed by luck and random chance. Such as having a clear lap for qualifying and little pit traffic for your stop.
Now we know what you and I think. Let's hear from more members.
