1976 F1 Season - Round 15 USA Watkins Glen REPORTS
#1
Small field. Qualified about 3rd from the back (14th?). Seems I'm getting slower or you guys are getting faster. But I had a fun race with Mel for most of the race. Made 3 passes for position early. Gave back one to Mel in the second stint. Finished 11.

Well I made a huge mistake in the pits and knocked the front wing off of my team mates car and ruined his race I am so sorry and cant blame you for being mad.
Then to make matters worse a couple guys didn't pit and I lost spots anyway.

It is a fun track

That wasnt your Fault Tim it was mine , i was askew across my pitbox after contact with Daniel , i should have been more carefull setting off
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Hi all
with some setup injection from Bryan (i still made a few changes) I could knock off a second from my previous PB in Q and came 6th or so. As it felt mild to the tyres I decided to go for a no stop strategy. Made me a bit slow at the start and after the desaster in Canada I wanted to survive the first lap. Lost two positions in doing so. collected a small damage from gently tauching the wall before the fnal straight. Just some Aero damage but it did cost top speed. Gained a few positions through not pitting. Was not strong enough to hold Shannon in the end and finished 8th. This felt quite alright after the prior race.
Do you even lift?

Alas I had to work late this week so knew I wasn't going to be able to make it, which is why I didn't bother practicing other than some shakedown laps. It's a shame as otherwise I have a lot of laps on Watkins Glen, including a sportscar victory in the SimCar league (albeit in their Sportsman division for non-aliens).

Fun Track, Turn out was slightly down, still 16 on track and good to see some guys out there who had been away.

Pretty happy with my race. Qualified 4th. The opening laps were frantic, reminiscent of last race. Dani and DJ were trading places in front of and on lap two I had a good run on DJ but was not brave enough to make a move. The race settled and Dani and I had a great scrap up to lap 19 from memory. Fortune came my way with Dani making an error in the pits giving me a lucky break. If not for that I doubt I could have passed him.

Well done DJ, great win.

Sadly... one round to go. We would love to go out with a bang and have 20 plus starters to top of what may have been SR4L's best season to date.

Mr. Coyne, I apologize deeply for ruining your race. I'm sure that does not make you feel "better" or will bring the points you would have had back, please know that I am very, very sorry.

Tim McCoy said to Dave Coyne "very kind of you to say but we know better. " Mr. McCoy, had I not made the major mistake missing my pitbox and then reversing into Mr. Coyne he would not have been askew in the pitlane, whatever error you think you caused was entirely my fault. I apologize for causing the feelings of disappointment and remorse of letting your teammate down that you have experienced.

I more than agree but I still screwed up We tag teamed him. Deecee you are snakebit this year, you lost your front wing twice in the pits that's not easy to do without help.
Dani we know you are a good clean hard racer thanks for taking the bullet for me.
