After a long period of no simming and time dedicate to other stuffs, I would like to come back to SR4L, its historic seasons and its great people and admins.. Smile

I'm really interested to partecipate in this new league if it's possible, the only problem I have, is that I have only a formula wheel atm, I'm also waiting for a H pattern shifter, so I may be not ready for the first race..

If is ok I can proceed with the sign in and all the needed stuff to download..

Smile
Welcome and great to see you backBig Grin

Well, I layered all the cars that had elements or shapes I wanted on top of one another, then used magic wand tool to highlight bits I wanted and either copied and pasted into a new layer or paint bucket into the shapes. Then just saved an all-new skin for the selected car after other little details were done by hand, and of course added my driver suit and helmet, packed 'em into a MAS, and made the MAS read-only (as rF2 tends to want to re-save MAS files without the driver suit and helmet on its own sometimes when selecting a car).

Stuart, keep in mind that there are several different helmet and suit templates in use, so you have to figure out which one a particular mod is using. I have a set of suits and helmets for each template so I just unpack a mod's mas file and see which templates are in use. (Then some mods have customizable gloves too...)

Unfortunately it's bad news. for our league guys. The mod is causing some issues, rendering it unusable. Unless we find a fix very soon we will have no choice but to use another mod. We are working on a resolution but it does take time. At this point the League may be postponed for a week.

Very sorry allSad

curious as to what the problems are?

yes, what is the issue? I started to like the car.
Do you even lift?

The issue we have found with the car is the game drops out of real time and goes into slow motion if there are too many cars loaded. The issue is worse on some tracks than others.
What I mean by this, your car can slow down and then you get rear ended from the car behind you. It can happen even if you got very good frames rates.
You can test this offline at Silverstone with 20 AI cars. If you press Ctrl C on your keyboard when on track you will see a purple graph top right. If this bar gets to 100% in length the game is dropping out of real time.
The problem has not shown up in our online fun test races as we not had over 20 cars, but our concern is, if this league gets popular and start drawing in over 20 drivers we could start facing problems and think it's best if we find another fun car with out the problem.
We do not know why it happens with this car and not other cars.
It is a shame, as it is a fun car to drive and looks great too.

Some videos below showing the problems. Keep an eye on the purple bar, top right.

That's a real shame. What are the contenders for a replacement car mod?

couple suggested replacements from the workshop:

BMW M1
(1984 WEC & LM edition
[HEADING=2]1970 WSC Ferrari 512S[/HEADING]
[HEADING=2]Nissan Skyline 2000GTR-Nissan combined its best technologies and produced “Skyline 2000GT-R” in February 1969 after merging with Prince Motors, Ltd. “GT-R”[/HEADING]
there are other older sedans too like the cortina or datsun , or gto cars or 70s stock cars

If we are changing cars, could I suggest the F1 1986 mod pack? There's a lot of variety from car to car. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...rchtext=f1

There are 2 different versions of the same pack, different tyre models etc. I think this version has bigger differences between cars while the other one has very similar cars https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...1660095292

Glad someone (thanks DJ Cruicky!) tested and noticed this issues before championship begins. This Porsche 911 RSR '73 is realy fun driving and still hope issues ca be solved.

Altough i am sure you already got some alternatives i would like to remind of the Porsche 930 (+934) http://Link Steam Workshop. We had a championship M1 & Porsche 934 at ODS and it was realy packed with action. Also a nice mod if open wheelers are welcome would be the F1 Legends (1967) http://Link Steam Workshop.

I am sure you will find & choose a nice mod. At the end it doesnt realy matter which mod/car as long as ther are enough pilots on start so that there will be nice races with allot of nice fair fights & a lot of fun Smile . Cu on track, Ratus
