Race laps: 20
Same day as the real British GP F1 race, Simracers4Life invites you all to take part in our own mini British GP.
Event Starts: 7:30PM UK time (BST)
Qualify : 10 minutes
Warmup : 7 minutes
Race : 20 laps
No special rules on tyres and fuel.
Weather:
To spice things up, I've asked Myles to set one of the 5 weather slots to Light rain for the race.
This should add an extra challenge to the race. Hopefully it's light enough that no one finds it too difficult to drive. It's a secret when the rain will come, only Myles knows.
Good luck to all that enters and have fun.

Think everyone will be surprised as rFactor does what it wants when it comes to weather o_O :p.
To get some wet weather practice in, Myles tells me he has temporary set the first part of the race to Light rain. Feel welcome to use 'Session Control' button to vote to get to race session.

I like this car, it drives well and I also like the fact that it is combined with the same circuit where F1 runs this weekend.
I noticed that there are soft and hard slick tyres..

I love this car/track so I can't wait for this one. This will be the first time racing in the wet in this sim for me so I'm not sure what to expect. Better get another livery cracking

Decided to bring back the ringtons livery. Not my best work, but it's definitely not my worst. Something simple

Having some troubles with rf2, not sure if anyone can help/has had the same issues. So my game runs at a solid 60fps but has some pretty big stutters every second. feels like it's running at 5 fps. The wheel input has a few seconds delay. the game is undriveable. I've restarted my pc a few times, updated my graphics driver, lowered the graphics settings but nothing has worked yet. Any suggestions more than welcome
edit: nevermind I fixed it. turns out having 100gb of unused mods harms the game. Who wouldve thought! Game runs as smooth as butter now. panic over

That was weird, happy you have it sorted. I have over a 100gig of mods myself.
Nice skin.
My Quickshark skin might make a re-appearance

It was getting so bad for me that I’d often lose the first minute or more of Qualy waiting for the session to roll over from practice.

I think you also reduced that wait time by deleting your all_vehicles.ini file in your player folder.

I started to get problems again so deleting the mods didnt really work. I moved the game to my ssd and it helped. I'll try deleting the replays next, thanks

Although clearing out logs and replays was beneficial, the key solution to the session-change delays for me was to set Ignore folders in my antivirus. My AV was seeing logs/replays being written to disk at the end of a session and was basically holding rf2 to ransom while they were checked out.

Low turn out of drivers but had great battle with Ed Pond.
Race started on a damp track but that dried up in 3 laps. I was keeping up with Ed.
The rain came at lap 10 and slowly made driving harder and harder. Ed made a small slip and I was passed him .
Rain stopped and tracked started to dry.
Lap times started to drop. I could keep him behind to finish in 1st
Lap time chart of race:-

Sorry you missed it. No idea. Was low numbers for the event, was that because of car? All feedback is welcome.

Al;l feedback is welcome. not sure about others but the car was the reason I was going to attend. Absolutely love the 70s formula cars, not too keen on the other stuff like the porsche 911s. Crazy power with a little downforce is perfect for good racing

While it would have been better to have more on the grid, Sunday was still an epic battle with David and right up there as one of my favourite online races. We were very evenly matched and I only finished two tenths behind. The rain was much heavier than expected and presented a significant challenge but it was very satisfying and I was loving it. Please let's have more wet races.

I changed the rain to notionally come in in the fourth time slot (of 5) after a cheeky lightening of the clouds in slot 3 - intended to give a false sense of hope with a chance of redemption as the track dried somewhat towards the end of the race.
I’d love to do some of these races - but weekend nights just don’t work for me unless my partner is away on holiday.

Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it
