Test Event!

With the Autumn/Fall Sprint and Feature Leagues due to start in less than a month (October 19th for Mid Week Sprint League, October 23rd for Sunday Feature League), it's time to run a test event...

The EVENT will consist of two sprint Races.

Gather on Wednesday 28th September from 7PM-ish UK time

Qualify: 7:30PM UK time - 15 minutes, unlimited laps
Warmup: #1: 7:45PM UK time - 5 minutes (warmup will not be skipped)
Race #1: 7:50PM UK time - '15 minute' race (race length defined by laps based on practice times - 6 LAPS for this circuit)
Server reset @ 8:05PM UK time for Race #2

Practice and Qualify skipped (Grid for Race #2 is reverse of Race 1 finish)
Warmup #2: c. 8:05PM - 5 minutes
Race #2: 8:10PM - '30 minute race' (race length defined by laps - twice number of Race #1 - i.e. 12 LAPS for this circuit)


Notes:

• Race #2 timings are approximate and may vary due to server reset delays.
  
• Starting Grid for Race 2 is reverse of finishing positions for Race 1. Anyone not completing/joining Race 1 will be added to the back of the Race 2 grid
  
• For the Sprint League (N/A for this test event), both Races in each Event score equal points
  
• No mandatory pitstop
  
• No pit lane speed limit
  
• Cut-Track threshold set to 2.0pts before automatic penalties (Stop-Go or Drive Through) are applied.
  
• Six Vehicles are available in the Trans Am Golden Era League Edition pack:-
  - AMC Javelin
  - Plymouth Cuda
  - Chevrolet Camaro
  - Dodge Challenger
  - Ford Mustang Boss
  - Pontiac Firebird
  
• Vehicle choice is FREE but for each two-race EVENT, you must race the car you qualify that EVENT with (e.g. you cannot race the Dodge in Race 1 and the Ford in Race 2 otherwise penalties will be applied)
  
• For the Sprint League (advanced warning!) you must race AT LEAST THREE different Vehicles during the season (e.g. AMC, Dodge and Ford) - your choice of Vehicle/Event is up to you. Penalties will be applied if fewer than three vehicles are used.
  
• Note - Livery/Skin choice is free at all times - changing the skin/livery/car-number/etc. does not in itself constitute a change of Vehicle.
  
• For the Sprint League, the AMC Javelin and Pontiac Firebird will be eligible for bonus points in each Event. Bonus points are TBC but will consist of a fixed number of points added to the finishing position score. A minimum finishing position criteria (TBC) may apply.
  
• Drivers may enter the League at any point in the season
  
• Test events do not constitute rounds of the League and do not score points

2nd place: 40 points
3rd place: 35 points
4th place: 30 points
5th place: 25 points
6th place: 20 points
7th place: 14 points
8th place: 13 points
9th place: 12 points

13th place: 8 points
14th place: 7 points
15th place: 6 points
16th place: 5 points
17th place: 4 points
18th place: 3 points
19th place: 2 points
20th place: 1 point


Teams

Drivers wishing to form teams should try and keep balance in mind.
Remembering it's fun to get something out of the seasons and the more people involved throughout the grid makes a huge difference.

Shouldn't the test race be September? Also some of the text is black and hard to read on a black background.

Camaro seems to show up on live timing as 'Unknown' class where other cars show the car type.

We spotted that yesterday. Myles is working on an update.

Now live timing is saying I drove the AMC Javelin on the server which I did not, intriguingly with the same time I did set in the Camaro.

V1.04 appears to fix the problems - if you get the chance, please join us for the test evening tonight.

….if anyone misses qualy or the first sprint, please do try to join for the longer sprint if you can (reverse is also true - if you can’t stay for the longer sprint but can show up for Qualy and the first race, please do as we’ll learn more).

I can't manage to join in any of the servers, rF2 stucks me on the "Joining server.." screen.
What can I do guys?

Giorgio I think you need to manually delete the trans am mod and let it download again from the server

Yes Ed, I tryed to manually delete the TransAm Golder Era LE folder from rFactor 2 / Installed / Veicles but not solved the issue..

I also tryed to uninstall the mod from the ingame Content @ Settings / Manage Content but the uninstall button is greyed.

Solved! Thank you Ed: there was the .rfcmp file to delete from packages.

I think that worked out quite well! Apologies for forgetting to reset the Qualy period from the usual Wednesday night settings.

We did have one request to adjust the reverse grid (I.e. to be moved to the back to avoid getting in the way) - I’m minded not to entertain this in the League itself as it undermines part of the point of the reverse grid system.

The only thing that annoys me a bit is that I can't see the custom skins of other drivers during replays. I can see only mine.

It happened for the F1 Legend car league also which was also a Multi car mod.
What I did to get skins viewable for that mod was to rename the mas files of other drivers skins. If it said _42_TomB , I would change it to TomB removing the first part of the file name.

But, I tried this with the AM cars and only Tims car worked doing that.
I could get the other drivers skins to show using the Mas.exe tool and extract the loose files in the same place as the skin. Looking like this...
   

If John-Cook had a skin, it never worked for me at all, not in the race, and not in the replay.
