Another fun event with some great racing

Race
Got a good start and dropped in behind Ron , after a few laps Rick started attacking and Ron went wide in turn 1 and dropped behind us , we stayed this way for a couple more laps then Ron spun out , DJ seemed to be taking it easy this allowed Rick to nibble at me so i decided to pass and give DJ a hurry up to get away from Rick , we eased away and i let DJ through as i find it easier to follow , we stayed this way for ages , around lap 22 i was expecting DJ to pit i was running full tanks and at this point the car felt great , when we got to lap 26 and DJ still hadnt pitted i decided to pass and see if i could push him to pit , sadly i leaned on my rears too hard in turn 4 which put me into the wall .
I pitted and didnt repair but when i came out the cars speed wasnt there i had a lot of understeer so i ended up 4th
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Hi. As usual for some time I arrived late, not very prepared, the Gand-Prix of Brazil ended just before the end of qualifying for Indianapolis, I didn't have much time. I especially wanted not to disturb the others on the track.

In the race I realized quite quickly that my car had the wrong setup even though I already knew it. While the others were dancing with the back of their car like in a big ballet, the front of my car always wanted to go into the wall.

I managed to catch up and overtake Minga and finished 5th, I don't know how the others must have had problems because everyone else around was faster than me.

See you soon and congrat to the winner

Round 5 Bridgehampton

Ran the Mustang again because I didn't get any practice during the week. Went with what I was familiar with on this hilly circuit. Got P4 on the grid with Gary only a tenth slower than me. Start was good and Gary followed me very closely for about 3 laps until I bobbled a bit and went off but got back on track quickly. I then chased him very closely for several laps but could not find a way past until he seemed to let me by towards the end of lap 11. I thought he must have had some damage or something but ends up he did an early pit stop. I didn't figure that out until my stop was done near mid-race and saw him ahead of me by about 6 seconds. But my tires were newer so I'd have an advantage for at least a few laps. I was able to slowly close the gap to about 2 seconds but could see I was going to run out of race. And even if I caught him I still would have to find a way to make the pass with my now worn-out tires. My only hope was to keep the pressure up in the hopes he would bobble. And sure enough with 2 to go he got loose at T3 and I made it by to finish P4.

Great fun Gary!

And oh, something weird during my pit stop. As I was pulling into my spot, a car materialized right in front of me! I bashed him at about 20mph. I backed up and went around him to pull into my spot. And that would be the 6 sec gap that Gary had over me once I rejoined!

Checked my replay. It was Tim I bashed. Sorry dude, you just popped into existence out of thin air!

guys I need ideas I have had a recurring problem during our Sunday races I can't duplicate during week. I set my pitstops for say 12 gal of fuel but when I pit during the race after calling for a pitstop my car just sits there, and the fuel is bouncing between 5 and 6 gal and I can't make it change. My display mode button doesn't work, and I am stuck with pit display remainder of race. Today while sitting in pit, I hit pit display and I think I pooped out of limbo into someone's way.
any ideas? Should I reload game?

Do you have CrewChief or anything similar loaded that can automate the fuelling?

Have you/ can you try mapping different buttons to the MFD controls to see if you have any physical control issues (stuck button for instance)?

Failing that, if you *don’t* have CrewChief, try it! The ‘fill me to the end of the race’ option is pretty accurate (limited number of tests for me, to be honest) and you can play it even safer by telling CC to use your most inefficient fuel lap in the calculations rather than your average.

Another good event , i used the Dodge this time to complete my 3 cars , although its the most powerfull its also heavy and couldnt live with the acceleration of the Camaro , many times i was in DJs draft but he just pulled away , the good thing about it appeared to be the brakes maybe the weight helped , but definately got to work on my pitstops , went in with arund 4 secs on DJ but came out 1/2 sec ahead .

Good race..on ricks bumper for some time till he had a off..could see he was gaining back and then i noticed my fuel, had made a miscalculation and was trying to adjust my pit while in vr..and rick on my bumper ,decided to let him by as it was difficult and risky to do on that hillly curvy track...pitted and later to my surprise its rick closing in again..I thought he was in front of me..but have since read what happened on his pit. He was pouring on the pressure and i got loose on a corner where previously had no issue..lost it and was never to regain ..great racing again Rick!! We've been having real good battles last two races now..look forward to seeing you at laguna..hopefully in my mirror..lol

Sorry to say I will prob miss Laguna. (And Willow tomorrow) Family in town for Thanksgiving week. If I can pull it off without being too rude I'll give them a try.

I *might* join you for Sundays race (as long as the lure of alcohol doesn’t overtake me!) - my partner is away on a Sunday for once o_O

Cor. That was getting hard work! Haven’t got the massive 4090 heat source yet - but it was still roasting in my rig room mid way through…

Couldn‘t regain my practice balance in Qualy - and had to take a couple of minutes out to adjust my pedals after a slight change earlier in the day.

Rubbish start - got it well sideways when shifting into second and lost two places. Dragged my way up to 5th behind Gary but we were trading times and I was roughly 5 secs back.

The gap closed a bit leading up to the pit stops - dunno if he was fiddling with his pit settings or just nervous about the stop - so as I stayed out for an extra lap or so, I hammered it and was fairly aggressive on the pit entry and exit. Just managed to exit ahead of Gary and gradually stretched the gap to around 3-4 secs come the finish. Hard work though - our times were consistent and similar.

Freeze then CTD is my experience when the game crashes. Tim, how long had the game been running when it happened? For Sunday races I try to restart half way through quali to avoid the crash.

Round 7 Riverside
Practiced online before the race. Did qualy. Did a few laps during the warm up. Heard "would all non-essential personnel leave the grid now". Clicked RACE. I sit alone on the grid. Nobody else materializes! Countdown timer goes to zero... nobody! It kicks me to my garage. Day over. WTF

I had a pitlane speeding notice during the 5min warm up. Does that end your day if penalty not served?

I've had that happen rarely as well. Somehow your client just forgets to advance properly. We used to have an extra-long countdown timer so such issues wouldn't end your day.

Super fun race. Had a pole lap going but lost it on the turn before the back straight. 0.090 separated the top three as I recall. Got off the line from P2 well and into the lead. DJC and I swapped it a few times early on (with some good old-fashioned rubbin'-is-racin' in the banked turn a couple times). Eventually I decided to stay in line and try to pull away from DC and Ed, which we did.

I pitted a couple laps later hoping clear track would help, but without the draft on the back straight the lap times weren't there, and I had to check up for a spun car once. Then I nearly sped into pit lane so was down to 50 mph for a while, which certainly didn't help. Came out of the pits three seconds behind DJC. Got it down to under a second with a lap and a half to go, but overcooked the final turn which overheated my tyres, so I couldn't push through the Esses, then overshot my braking into the right-hander after the Esses. That was that, so I just brought it home P2. So close!

We did see you disappear at the end of Warmup. Without knowing the reason for your disappearance, and not knowing if you were returning, the show had to go on. Must have been very frustrating. No the speeding notice would not be the reason for your boot.

Good race Ron, we were very close in speed, good battle.
The pit stops neutralised the race, as we were all separated after that. All the action was before the pits.

CU all in next one.
