rF2 Historic EVE F3 Summer League (6 week special)

I had cuts but none were false cuts. Can get Myles to increase cut limit from 2 to 3 if he sees this.

I got two laps penalty, mainly in the "tobogan".

I mean two laps penalty for one fault.

Yes, invalidating the following lap is too harsh and unwarranted, especially given the length of the lap.

I noticed that too. You have full half hour to set your qualify lap, if it happens just go out again.
The track maker has a incorrect line in his track....
Quote:CutNextLapInvalidDist = 500.0 //Manually set the distance at which the next lap will be invalidated.
500 metres is far to short, it needs to be almost the full length of the track.

Good news is, it will not happen in race.
In race I found it hard to trigger a cut anyway, and I was trying to cut too. When I did manage to get it to penalty me, it only took 0.25 points off me anyway. I think you guys don't have anything to worry about.

Good luck in tonight's race, have fun.

It was a good turn out, 13 drivers on the grid.
I thought I was going to have pole by only a 0.02 gap to Ed, but he put in another good lap near the end, going 0.137 faster :p .
Matias had a good time too.
At start of race, me and Ed swapped the lead a few times, but then he found a bit of extra speed and started pulling away from me.
I think on lap 3 Matias was close behind me going into turn 1. I made a small mistake that slowed me a little, and Matias spun trying not to hit me. He ended up near the back. Sorry about that.
I was catching Ed slowly before my pit stop. I got the gap down to 2 seconds.
I pitted on lap 10, but I bumped into a lot of traffic on my out laps. I had 2 off's trying to avoid people. When Ed did his pit a few laps later he was 7 seconds ahead.
Well done to another 1st place Ed.

Nords67 next, who's ready for it? :eek:Smile

Leaving the pit lane at the very end, starts your lap timer straight away without the need of you driving a full out lap, saving you time.
Please note, this only works in practice sessions. For qualify and race you will find this route blocked.

Really enjoyed the race on Sunday, and fantastic qualifying merge video @DJCruicky . Thank you for putting that together. I just managed to get a faster lap at the end of quali but as that video shows it could have gone either way. In the race I had to work hard, and part way through my right hand went numb which didn't help! I saw what happened after your pit David and it was unlucky as we were about the same in lap times. Looking forward to Nords!

Had my iRacing league race on Sunday last week (usually on Tuesday), so missed SR4L race. In hindsight I should have stuck with SR4L. I did get on the front row but got involved in a first corner crash and then iRacing would not fix my car. By the time that was sorted )or not) It was too late for SR4L. Will be joining tomorrow though. Down loaded the track and did a quick out and timed lap (lap timer did not start until I crossed the line after full out lap?).. Been running the modern version of this track loads in iRacing; this version looks really strange. Out of interest I just looked at my old GPL replay lap, that looks so basic. That said, all the corners are the same, so at least I know my way around. Just a bit slow. 8m59.52sec in GPL 9m55 in RF2. This layout is not in iRacing but I did a 8m57.133 on the Nürburgring Combined (Gesamtstrecke 24h) in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992).

rFactor 2 already does have a 'Gesamtstrecke' track mod. Maybe it's something to consider for a future event, but I think, for now, Nords67 is big enough for all you old codgers to remember all the corners Big Grin.
See my info and pictures above on how to start a lap.

Last season iRacing introduced a series at the Nordschleife - Industriefahrten. Same track each week, but with a different car. Been running a few races a week there; the 1967 track is more or less the same layout with 2 more straights and a 180 corner. Used to run there ('67 mod virtually) a lot in the last century with GPL chasing the sub 9 min lap (only did it once back then). The Eve is a lot like one of the GPL training cars.

P.S.
Not sure why but I seem to have a US flag instead of a Union flag (not always but seems to alternate).

Messed up my fuelling. Thought I fuelled for the full race. So just stopped for tyres, did ask crew chief to fill to end of race, but it did not fuel when I stopped for tyres. Had to stop next lap for fuel, but crew chief fuelled me 3 litres short so had to stop again. I may have finished a position higher if I was fully fuelled at the start or even if it was done when I changed my tyres. Despite all that pleased with myself for finishing the race. Should be ready for the Lotus 49 in iRacing.

Had good event.
3 drivers had the speed to win the race, Matias, Ed or Me. Our times in practice had been very close all week.
I did 2 flying laps in qualify and put it on pole Smile.
In the race, I had a bad start and I got swamped. ED, Matias and even Dan got passed. Dan crashed in the 1st corner, that put me 3rd behind Matias.
I was like a rash on Matias's rear the whole 1st lap. Any attempt to over take I got squeezed.
At start of long back straight Matias made a mistake, he put his gear stick into 3rd instead of 5th and I was passed.
Ed was long way in front but I still had him in sight, and was gaining very slowly.
I boobed up my pitstop, I braked way to early so lost a load of time, also had a very long 29.50 second pit to make things worse. Unknowing to me, Matias behind me crashed himself out of the race, him getting stuck in a guardrail.
Again, Ed was way in front. The last 2 laps I could only reduce the gap.
Ed won 4 in a row now, he doing a Max Verstappen. Can he win them all? Who has the speed to stop him?
Pittsburgh International Raceway is next.
I have decided for the last race, we go with Matias idea of using the history version of Oulton Park instead of the 2015 version. I will update the pages soon.

Good event for me.
Qualify was very close with Ed. The track was getting faster and faster as the rubber was building up and we both getting times quicker we ever did in practice. This was a good example of rFactor2's track evolution, the track become alive.

In race Ed and I were close too. The whole race we had a gap of no more than 1.5 seconds. We swapped places a few times, but for the first time this season I finished first ahead of Ed Big Grin. It was not easy but. Ed said he cooked his tyres.

Looks like there was a lot of action behind us looking at the replay.
Dan was looking good in 3rd until he found some cones...

There are 14 pit boxes, so sharing should not be a problem. I will let you know if you are.

Very fast lap times from MelC and D.Coyne up there already. I best get my finger out if I want to beat you guys Big Grin.
