In this special Simracers4life event we take to the old Monza oval banking driving it anticlockwise.
We will be using the 3rd party modified version of ISI/S397 track by S.Victor. Special thanks to him.

Time:
Practice 7:00pm (UK Time)
Qualify 7:25pm (UK Time) 10 Minutes
Warmup 5 Minutes then 63 lap Race

► 20% damage

Special Rules:
► Mandatory pit stop. At least 1 pitstop must be done in the race changing all 4 tyres
► Pit stops can NOT be done on lap 0. Example http://> Here
► Slipstreaming is allowed, but http://bump drafting is not
► You are allowed to drive below the yellow lines on the banking's

63 laps! How long is a lap?

About 55 seconds, race should not take any more than an hour. Even shorter if you like to crash a lot

Because of the bumpy nature of the banking's I would recommend add lots of 'Smoothing' filter to your force feedback settings and also lower 'Car specific multiplier'.

The bumps also affect your view too. You can smooth your view by increasing the 'Head Physics' setting, see screen shot below. I have mine at the full 100% for this track. Play around with it, see what is best for you.


   

rFactor 2 does not have the same exact cars that took part in the real life event back in the 1950s, the car choice of the Gasoline Alley was a bit of a compromise.
"The real event was 500 Miles. They did three separate 63-lap races, with an hour break for repairs and rest between each one, for a total of approximately 500 miles. The overall winner would be determined by the driver which finished all three races with the highest average speed."
We are are only just doing the one 63 lap leg for our event.

I think I remember once upon a time we raced at Indy and there were problems with blue flags. Many penalties if memory serves.

Well that was an interesting event. It was something different.
Would have been better with a few more drivers.
Santiago was very fast but he ended up being the first DNF after a small mistake. Dan was quick too but something happened to him after the pits.
I managed to keep it off the walls for most of the race to finish.
Well done to all that took part, check out the new league starting very soon.

Hi, my first pole in RF2 and SR4L as well, I was the fastest guy all the week long, something new for me because Im not a fast driver anyway, so I enjoyed the moment, I was able to make a very low 55 per lap running alone in a very easy way, just going flatout all the time.
In the race I made a bad start as usual and begun following Dan, who took second place behind DJ on first, after a few laps I managed to overpass Dan who begun to work with my sliptream, so, slowly but steady we begun to cacht DJ, my car was faster so Dan never had the chance to overtake me, when we got DJ at hands some laps later, Dan made a mistake and went off track but I already was in DJ´s sliptream so I overpassed him and start leading the race for some laps until some family affairs on the run force me let pass DJ and left the race after lost control on the second bank exit, making a very low 54 in the process 54.170 I think.
So, what the difference?, the setup I think, my car was clearly faster than the rest.
Tried to attach the svm file but cant, dont know how, system reject it.
