Qualifying:
After not having practised on track before today I had to fight hard for a fast clean lap and for my usual grid position next to Nikos Neela.

Race 1: Can't remember much to be honest, so it must have been bad. Finished somewhere at the back of the field way behind my target Sad

Race 2: Contact with Nikos in first corner, which put us both behind the field but without major damage. After that I drove behind him, waiting for a chance to overtake. Seeing that I could accelerate faster than him out of the last corner, I overtook him next lap on the start/finish straight, which was a strange feeling with my winged low top speed Spark Smile
Unfortunately I hit the brakes too early before the hairpin which resulted in Nikos hitting me in the back, sorry for that. With slightly damage to the car and no other car around I've managed to get some good laps and gained positions until lap 8 or 9 in which the big evil red kerb sent my car into the air doing fancy tricks (Can I get points for that? ) just to see the cars passing me upside down. :/

Race 3: Started somewhere at the front, just trying to survive. Did a stupid mistake at Turn 6 (i guess), lost control and stopped at the middle of the track. Couldn't do anything but stand there, wait and hope that nobody hits me. That was a really scary moment and first it looked like everyone could avoid but the luck went out and someone hit me so race was over even though I could nurse the car back to the pit.

Good Morning all Smile
I found this track very hard to learn and somehow unpredictable, after practicing several days during the week I was able to do 3 or 4 laps in a row in 2:04 - 2:05 but after that it was easy for me to do a 2:08 or 2:10 without no reason to me :p

In qualy I was able to do an incredible and unexpected something below 2:03, maybe it was another driver's lap but I don't want do double check...anyway, it was enough to be 10th or 11th, I don't know...what a difficult qualy, everybody's so fast!

First race: I just remember that my second set of tyres were not good, I were sliding everywhere trying to keep the car on track. In the last corner of the last lap, I hit the inside kerb and went upside down to the grass...I was very lucky, the guy behind was not able to reach me before I got on track again.
Ah...yes, Gorka overtook me twice in the same lap, I thought for a moment I was going backwards in time.

Second race: I don't remember anything Smile

Third race: Slow start, as usual, trying to avoid accidents, Giorgio and I touched in second corner, he got the worse part. I was behind Nikos when Giorgio reached us. After a couple of laps fighting to overtake each other safely, I was able to pass Nikos (thanks Niko) but, again, Giorgio was faster than me and after a few corners he was there again. He did his pit stop first so I did not met him again.
Good driving Giorgio, almost better than your car's skin Wink
I did my pit stop very late, without any gain, I lost 2 or 3 positions (12th or 13th after pit). With new tyres and risking everything I tried to reach drivers in front of me. I got Alexander B, he did a mistake in the 4th corner, I tried to pass him by his right, he closed the door, then I took the inside and, from my point of view, I owned the next corner so I threw myself to the apex, we touch and he got the worse part again, sorry about that Alex.
Watching the replay from both points of view it was not so clear (to be clean) what I did.

I was very lucky the whole evening avoiding and getting out of accidents Smile

Thanks All, It was fun.

Qualy

Went out with intention of doing 3 laps as I found I always got my best time on that lap ,after that the tyres appeared to go off , I surprised myself and did a PB but I don’t know how , got 4th place

Race 1

Got a good start made up a place before turn 1 and was following DJ , he started drifting out wide and I thought he was going off so I backed off and got swallowed by Jason , Bryan and Everon , I thought I would do another lap behind them then pit and see if could get back past them that way , I managed to keep up a reasonable speed in the next stint and got back to 4th .

Race 2

Got a great start and slipped under DJ , went into turn 2 in second , I nearly fell off my chair in shock, it didn’t last long . Pitted early again and again came out in space so I could run my own speed , then Bryan arrived and for the rest of the race we had a good battle with the gap between us see sawing , fortunately I managed to keep him far enough away in the right places so he could not use his faster speed to pass me , Gorka then joined the fray and Bryan had his hands full defending so I managed to ease a gap .

Race 3

Got a reasonable start and picked my way through various incidents and finished the lap in I think 6th place , pitted early and came out in space so I got my head down I could see Bryan ahead so it was my turn to chase but I couldn’t make any impression on him , Marcel was behind and slowly reeled me in and passed me with 3 laps to go .

This was a great nights racing on a track that was very easy to overdrive on , for me on long stints the tyres felt strange , grip was there for 3 laps then dropped of for 3 laps but then appeared to come back strong , this happened in all 3 races , did anyone else experience this ?
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Same feeling after 3 laps but I never did more than 6 - 7 laps to verify if the grip is recovered Smile

Great circuit this one, but really hard to find the grip lap after lap.

Qualifying - Got close to my PB and was glad to see the rubber build up was helping greatly. Got 5th on the grid.

Race 1 - Got a sloppy start, revs bogged down a bit and Bryan overtook me at the start. DC got a bit sideways in front of me so I was able to take him on inside at hairpin. On exit, Gorka decided to go take a closer look at the grass so I was in 4th. Concentrated on being mistake free. Jose and DC swapping positions behind me. Passed Bryan after second hairpin after he outbraked himself. In 3rd now. Started to lap people around the 7 lap point and pitted. Came out just ahead of Jose who had pitted 1 lap before. Saw him and DC swapping positions again behind me and had an easy drive home for 3rd.

Race 2 - Another bad start and was in 4th with Jose and Gorka behind me. Took a couple of laps to get up to speed then started to pull away from them and pitted on lap 6 I think. DJC in the pitbox in front honking away jovially. Emerged just behind Gorka (assumed he jumped me at the ptistops) Bryan and DC. In 6th I think. Need to practice my pitstops! Next few laps, just a couple of seconds seperated DC, Bryan, Gorka and me in that order. 3rd to 6th. It was a great sight for me in 6th, the four of us so close and evenly paced near the end of the race. Bryan got a bit ragged and Gorka attacked down the straight but there was contact in the braking zone and they both went off. I sailed straight past and safely brought it home in 4th.

Race 3 - Clean start but exit of 1st hairpin, J Rodriguez took out Giorgio on the exit. I drove round them but Gorka hit me from behind sending me spinninig onto the grass. I knew I had my work cut out now to score any meaningful points. The next few laps saw me and Gorka catching and overtaking 6 or 7 people, Gorka was pulling away from me by a few seconds. Pitted on lap 6 or 7, with DJC again in the pitbox in front of me with a cheery hoot or two. Emerged in 8th I think, gained another place before race end and finished in a disappointing 7th.

edit - actually, last race, Gorka hit Neela not me due to the Rodriguez / Giorgio incident, and I got caught up in that. The replay confused me!

News from the back.

I was really scared of Snetterton.
I remembered F3 race we had, how difficult it was for me.
I started practicing on Monday, it was as hard as I remembered.

Suddenly, Thursday I think, I was amazed to find I stopped making mistakes, I even did a 2:06 which was stellar for me.

So I went into practice on Sunday feeling quite good with myself.

Practise was ok and then I did a huge mistake.
Seeing that Vittorio did a 2:03 and knowing we usually prefer same things at setups, I changed my setup to his, just before race 1 started.
Somehow I lost all my brake points, got frustrated and made one mistake after another, luckilly managing to not bent my steering so I took my points of finishing.

I changed back to my setup for race 2, disaster at first lap as I had contact with MarcelT, not his fault, I overdid it at t1.
Again, managed to finish and collect the points.

Reverse grid came, by then I calmed down, let the flow of the race get into me and I really enjoyed a race without big mistakes.
I had a nice fight with Vittorio, I was 10sec in front at pitstop time, then he gained 20sec (!!!) with his pitstop strategy and when we came out he was 10sec in front.
Neela was chasing me, as I said no mistakes at last race, so I kept her at a safe distance.

My interesting battle with John at General Standings continuous, we had a tie, he had a 10th place at last race, but as he couldnt finich at race 2, now Im 1 point in front of him. YES!!!

Cool decision Bryan had with his duel with Everon at last race, Im very proud of my teamleader Smile

This track cost me alot of nerves. Whenever I practiced after the update I had the feeling I have to learn the track again. Braked too early or too late into turns, never at the right time. Tongue

Qualy : I hoped to have a battle with Niko and/or Vit but I couldn’t get faster than 2:08. Vit quailed 5 sec. faster and Niko 2. I realized to have a lonely race.

1. race: unspectacular apart from the last 3 laps. I saw Vit and Alex playing in the grass, so I took the chance to pass them. But Alex passed me back very quick. Still Vit was behind me and somehow I could managed to keep him behind me. He was faster and very close but he could not overtake me. I got more and more nervous and braked very early (sorry for that Vit). He hit me but I was faster back on the track and finished 13th one or two sec. in front of him with a heart rate of 180 LOL

2.race: was also unspectacular, whenever I had a fast guy behind me (so everybody Big Grin) I jumped to the side to let them through. Was surprised that I finished 14th and not last.

3. race I think I started on position 6. On turn 2 I saw Jesus after a collision spinning back on the street. I had 2 possibilities. To drive into Jesus or to go to the right to avoid him. So I went to the right and Gorka couldn’t avoid me and hit me. Sorry Gorka I had no choice but to go to the right Sad
So back to last position and finished last.

Thank you guys for the great race night. Smile

First of all sorry if there was any inconvenience in P1, things didn't work out for Paul or I setting the server at the correct P1 time.

Qual
I managed to get on track with around 15 minutes to go after coming home late from a great day's Cricket. I got a handful of laps in and managed P7. Definitely not a track you can turn up late to, you need a good session before hand, especially for racing.

Race 1
I had a great start, the clutch starts are working well and I highly recommend trying it if you don't already. I went from P7 to P2 by T2. Lap 3 I forgot to brake into T4 and drove straight into the wall...minor brain explosion tbh and possibly thinking about my great run out today (direct hitTongue)
I pitted on lap 5 and while setting Don't repair I missed my box... brain explosion number 2 for the race and had to go around again, got it right on lap 6 Smile Finished 7th where I started.

Race 2
Good start again, T6 saw the flying Yerkee outbrake himself and made way for him to shoot threw. He lost control a little and collected Gorgio giving me 2 places. Pitted well but DC still in front with a few laps to go, chased him hard and only had one opportunity to pass him into T1 but some amazing driving by him kept the place, nice one DC Wink Gorka moved in on me and made a move under the bridge, we hit and I felt I was in front into the turn so I made the decision not to give the place back, sorry we hit Gorka, I take a long radius into that corner but I understand how you would see it too. Finished 5th.

Race 3
Classic, this race had it all. My start was ok, just nowhere to go, I chose to come in at the end of the first lap. This put me in a great position I thought as I came out with some clear track. Lap 6 Everon (racing like a man possessed last night Smile) came out in front of me. He takes P1 and I move to P2, tried to pass Everon under the bridge overshot the corner and came out in front of him, I had no choice but to give the position back. Every lap after we picked up someone out of the pits and added them to the train. It was quite remarkable. Last lap we had Everon, Myself, DJC, Marcel and DC all line astern and it was anyone's race. On T2 I hit Everon and pushed him out of the way, poor braking on my behalf putting him back to second. I finished the race in first but in no way deserved it and as Race Director I was left with no choice but to drop a position.
Disappointed not to take my first league win but it was an easy decision to make in the end. Finished second.

Well done to all competitors, pats on the back all round. Very hard track combined with one of the hardest mods in online racing atm. Most non members coming into our servers are always impressed by the standard we set in the Historic's mod. Keep up the good work Wink

Great turnout again and some great racing. I completely rebuilt my cockpit to be more comfortable this week. I even had a physical lol....Still no go with the shoulder. I've avoided getting it fixed thinking it was healed enough to drive, but now I must address it or not race again. That's not an option. So I will stick around and do what I can to help SR4L and see a specialist. I will get the shots that will help and hope I can avoid surgery. Not looking for sympathy lol..... Old football injury. Not sure if I will drive any better but at least when I turn the wheel it won't hurt so bad.

Thank you guys for the great race night. Smile

Thank you Neela for avoiding me and apologies to both you and Gorka.

So at the end, my 3rd race was a total disaster, I took out Giorgio and Alex and made Gorka crash into Neela.

Mr Race Director, you may consider to review that race and decide what to do :Smile

I am sorry and will try to be more careful from now on.

Pain sucks. >Sad

It's written in every race-announcement (news), don't chat during during qualify and race. I'm sorry you have physical problems and I don't want to come across harsh but qualify or race isn't the time to vent those issues or to think out loud whether to participate or not. You might think of this as a game as you stated before but for most it's a little more than that and concentration is easily lost if someone is chatting, esp. those last moments of qualify, when everyone get's their last chance to get further up on the starting grid.

I hope your shoulder heals soon and you won't have anymore issues with doing what you enjoy. Smile
