Back on H shifting Smile

I never thought that gears rapport can be so important in H shifting.

I also would like to know if anyone of "H shifters" use to double shift with these cars, I'm finding it very usefull on some curves.

With double shift, do you mean for example going from 5th gear directly to 3rd? I do that all the time... at Putnam I use it for only 1 corner and it's the sharpest one... Smile
Or did you mean 'double clutch'? If so... no I don't use double clutch

I do it a lot IRL but never in rf2, I prefer to downshift through all the box and use engine brake.

I wonder how you two are doing it, dont you overrev badly?

Yes Rikard & Niko, I meant downshift for example from 5th to 3rd directly.
Sorry for my bad explanation.

I'm using that way right at the first corner of Putnam Park. Big Grin
Of course you have to make a deeper blip when you doubble downshift Niko.

Thank you guys!

A new era started for me... Big Grin

Ill try it, I arrive at this tight right hander at Putnam in 4th and I suppose it will save time to go down to 2nd at once.

Right Niko, but you have to work a lot wit gears RATE (?????) or rapports (LOL). Try to guess Niko what it should mean. Wink

Yes.. you're approaching that tight corner in quite high speed... It's possible to do it in both ways but I prefer to go down from 4th to 2nd. But of course you'll have to make a deeper blip, as gplay says. Also it's important because otherwise you'll spin... The car comes out from a fast right bend before braking so it's easy to spin if you don't match engine revs good enough. But I'm sure you understand that ;D

But it's true that I'm not using this technique as often as before. I prefer to go through all gears and using enginebraking, too. But for some corners it's useful I think.
For laptimes I've never noticed any difference Smile

Gear ratios?

I set up gear ratio before I even drove the track, and I haven't changed it since that. It was perfect from the start.
5th gear perfect for the long straight. 4th in the first corner, down to 3rd for the second corner, up to 4th again and no more shifting until the 'hairpin'. All gears was perfect 8)

First time I didn't had to go back to the garage to change that, lol.

I guess i'm not alone having transparent trees on all tracks except ISI's?
I wonder how many will be updated in the near future? I can imagine some of the conversions particularly will have transparent trees forever...

I never was worried about feels3's tracks...
But I'm thinking about all converted tracks. There's plenty good conversions out there (and bad of course).
Modern Monza for example, trees there looks much, much worse than feels3's tracks, but will it ever get fixed?

I'm already used to the ghost trees at Putnam hah. I doesn't bother me 8)
