Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to Season 3 of our Historic's League. This season we move up to the Historic F1's in what promises to be an action pack event. There's no way around it, it's a hard mod and with that comes massive challenges. One of them Finishing and being consistent will be the key to a good season. We see the return of the reverse grid race with this series and now with only two racers per round it add a lot more pressure on staying clean in those opening laps. Expect big thrill, big spills and lots of emotion to come out of this series.

SR4L wishes you good luck for the season.

I will have a look into the results problem tomorrow. I will talk to max the developer of the league site software.

Last time there was a problem we worked together to get it working talking via Skype to get it fixed.

I'm not yet sure if I'll be racing this GP.
New CPU has not yet arrived (there's a chance, according to provider, that it may arrive this afternoon).
If I don't have the new machine built and software installed by saturday morning (as half sunday will be fully occupied in a 16km running event) I won't be able to drive here (Still having around 0.5sec steering lag in this track in my actual computer that makes for an almost imposible car control).

Re: SR4L 1960's F1 League Rnd 6 Silverstone - Reverse Race start issue

TO everyone in the 2nd race today. My fanatec wheel stopped responding at the start of the second race and I didn't disconnect until there was a pileup on top of me (since I was in first row).

The wheel was in for repair and returned to me earlier this week and worked for the first race. I am sorry that my wheel caused this. Hope to fine out the cause and hope that I can still be in the league.

Again - my apologies.

Next time I would appreciate if you hit ESC before ruining other peoples race (I hope this never happens to you again of course). But when you was hit by the first cars, you was standing in the middle of the road, blocking, before you was hit again... I mean, it must have been obvious that you're wheel was not going to work before that happened. You were also really close to spin me off track when I was in the lead in first race and about to lap you... But well, no harm... so it's cool I guess Smile

I hope your wheel is functional again soon, so you can have more practice time before next event. Had you done any practicing at all before this event?

Hello.

Yes I had practiced before this event. I will practice more for next event. I guess I panicked when my wheel didn't work. If it ever happens I will hit escape like you said. As far as the passing - I do see the blue flag and understand the passing rule but I am not sure which side I should move to to allow cars to pass (newbie question). Also for some reason my virtual mirror in center makes the cars in mirror fat and squatty - hard to judge distance. I will use the triple mirrors next time so I have better awareness of cars behind me - hope that will help.

There is no easy answer in that.
Usually you step out of the racing line, but sometimes the car following does the same too with bad results.
Worse thing to do is to slow down while someone follows you closely, that ends up in a collision.
Best thing to do when in doubt is stay in your place and the fast man will find a better place to pass, after all we just cannot dissapear.
If you are willing to get laped and you dont block anyone in purpose, then there is no problem.

Disasters happen, nobody expects his wheel to suddenly fail at race start, it takes time to react properly.

Usually there's no problem when lapping slower drivers in this league... I've had a few incidents though. It's preferable that the slower driver move out of the driving line as soon as possible to show the driver behind that he is aware (even if he do not need to slam on the brakes instantly) Then he just need to brake a little bit earlier than usual for the next corner and the faster guy will pass. The worst scenario is when the slower driver wait too long, so the fast driver is right behind. Then he will probably try to overtake on the dirty side because he feels he is so much faster, and probably stressed about driver chasing him... and at the same time the slower driver does the same move = disaster.
