Hello all,

Not too happy about my performance today, I hit at least 3 drivers on first race, I am really sorry.

Qualy: It was really good for me, first try 2:09:2xx, PB, second try 2:08:9xx, PB again. 8th position for me on the grid and happy about it. Being in front of John was my only chance to beat him ...grrrrrr.

1rst race: John was at my side, I was on the dirty side of the track and I am very bad at starts...so John didn't have any problem to take my position. He had been faster than me all the week anyway. After 3rd turn I was faster on the exit, tried to take the inside and touched him. This was a very bad idea, I am very sorry john I got some damage so tried to do an early pit stop, on the way to pits, Rick overtook me, we touched too . I entered into the wrong pit and lost a full lap trying to get back to track. Then I raced like crazy trying to recover some positions, and touched (or was touched by) someone else in the way, don't know who, but I was already in front when it happened so I kept on running. I reached Nikos, 2 laps to finish and, again, on the exit of the first corner (not sure) I was too fast and hit Nikos from behind, sorry again. Then I realized that I didn't deserve to cross the finish line, so I hit ESC and went for a beer...My apologies to all.

2nd race: I started 4th but got 2nd position in first corner, don't know how it happened, didn't touch anyone this time
I was not able to follow Gorka that went away. Hectari and Marcel caught me very soon, they were clearly faster so I tried not to make anything stupid again. After 4 or 5 laps I was 5th, very confident, my car felt very good, the grip was good, my pace was good. Again I tried an early pit and went to the wrong pits...again...lol... I was 9th after pitting in the right one. Again I tried my best to recover some positions and finished 7th. Not bad at all, very lucky this time.

Mixed feelings about this event for me. Of course I am very happy for pole position and my Race 1 win. But I'm so disappointed I missed out on the action in Race 2 :'( I've been looking forward to this, because I've had some great fights in Race 2 before, with Marcel, Djc and Gorka etc... :'(

Went better than expected. I knew I was fast enough for front row if I just could manage to do a clean, fast lap, but I expected Marcel to take pole because I was sure he had more speed over one lap. With only minutes left of the quali, I was 2nd behind him, and tried to improve my mid 2.05 laptime. For several laps in a row, I had really good pace and was close to my best time but could not improve! But suddenly I did 2.05.2 which gave me pole! Really pleased with that, because I feared the dirty side.

[big]RACE 1[/big]

I did not get off the line as good as I usually do. Marcel was quick off the line on the dirty side, so he was close behind me through the first corners where he managed to hold Djc behind. After a few laps I was still in the lead with Marcel in my tail. We had opened up a gap to Djc in 3rd. After 5 laps I managed to open up a small gap to Marcel too, and I had quite good pace. I lost most of the gap when I was going to lap Peter in the first corner on lap 6 or 7... It looked like he was going to let me pass, but when I was beside him, he suddenly swerved to the inside and touched my rear wheel with his front wheel. It was a very light contact, but watching the replay, it was so close that this race ended in disaster there... But no harm, so I continued one more lap and did my pitstop at the end of lap 7 and so did Marcel. I had a good stop, 47 seconds. When all drivers had done their pitstops, I was in the lead, and I could not see Marcel in my mirrors anymore. Won the race and that felt great 8)

[big]RACE 2[/big]

My worst race ever. I had been looking forward to this race but I was a victim of the start grid incident. The crash happened on the left side of the track, so I thought that I could make it through on the dirty side. But suddenly I was hit by something and flew through the air and landed upside down.... (I was hit by a flying car, according to replay, but I did not see it when it happened because of some bad lag). Damage was extreme... I had to keep my wheel 90° to the right but still it was impossible to keep the car straight. It took me very long time to reach the pits for repair (308 seconds). I was sure I had lost a whee because the car was really unstable at low speed, but apparently not. I finished the race 14th or something like that, 3-4 laps behind >

I've been so lucky in previous events and never had damage like this before. But now I was hit by a flying car that I could not see. I guess it was my turn... Race 2 is all about luck. You are never safe, even if you are really careful. (Btw, I'm still of the opinion that only top 10 should be reversed in race 2)

Overall... I'm happy for my pole and win, but overall I'm disappointed, to be honest.

Again a great night racing!!!

Quali didn't give me anything. Tried hard but could not get near my own PB so started 15th.

Race 1

Almost *@@@ >* up the start, and thanks to Nikos i lived true it :-[
Once on the way i got into a battle with Cosimo who got past me in T1 but by the time we where at T3 i managed to get him behind me again.
In T5 Cosimo and Nikos collided so i had some air from behind and could focus on the guys in front.
Lap 3 i tried to outbrake George M. witch was a never going to work action and i totaly missed the apex of that corner, resulting in Cosimo getting pass me again.
Next laps i was fighting to take the lead of Cos again and at some point i managed to get passed him at start finish.
Than i had i great fight with George again.
I made my pitstop in the 10th lap and at that point i was 4 in the race 8). I wasn't aware of it till DJ came behind and i didn't get a blue flag so i thougt what's up RF2 ( ;D lol)
Came out of the pits being 10th and finished that place. Happy with that.

One little point here is: Guys please please wait with chatting till all the contenders are being finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Race 2

I didn't get in trouble at the start being in front of the mayhem at that point. But in T1 i collided with someone (new to me) i think his name is Rick. At that point i was a little angry about it but after seeing the replay i think it wasn't his fault.
Than after starting up again i noticed that i didn't have any damage and could do nice consistend laptimes.
At some point i came up from behind on George again and again had a nice fight with him....that is till he blew up his engine. Picture will be uploaded asap George than you can see the flames and smoke you put me into (cough cough )
Finished 8th this race.

Thanks all for a very enjoyable night all, was the most immersive race i ever had till now 8)

Jesus, we did not touch. I got by you on lap one at Copse with a wide space between us. I did screw up the exit of that same turn on lap 2 with you trailing me. I lost speed and you spun while checking up to avoid me. So my goof did cause you trouble but we never touched. Sorry for the bobble.

Well, new playseat, new computer finally installed on saturday midnight, no motec software, sunday morning running event, sunday afternoon F1 in Interlagos... and finally 1 hour before the race I started practicing.

Qualy

Seeing me in 5th place was great considering the lack of practice and the mistakes due to getting used to a new driving position, gear lever position, pedals position....

Race 1

Main mission was surviving as I had done no more than 4 consecutive laps.
First laps were quite a struggle, being in 5th place for the first laps until in turn 4 I slipped brake pedal and went wide enough for Hectary and David Coyne, who were just behind me, to pass me.
Pitstop time arrived, David Coyne, two seconds in front of me also went for his pitstop. He was approaching the pitlane quite carefully whereas I was approacing it fast. This caused me to give David a push and cause him to spin out. I waited for him to recover, but damaged was already done, sorry David.
Going back to race I was lapping behind David at a similar pace. Whatching him I saw he was succesfully using the kerbs at the exit of some corners so I tried to do the same so I could improve my pace.... but rule number X of racing: Changing your racing line to try to match other driver's can only result in time lost or a crash. And so it happened, at the exit of turn 5 I went wide enough to go through the grass, lost the rear of the car and crashed against the wall ripping off one of my front wheels, race over.

Race 2

I was supposed to start 4th in this race, but I found myself in the pole, maybe some of the drivers that should be ahead weren't online.
I did a good start and started pulling a gap to Jesus which increased up to 5 seconds. But quickly I saw Marcel had overtaken Jesus and he was approaching me quickly. He finally catched me and overtook me at the straight between turn 5 and 6 (No need to fight him as he was way too fast). Just kept driving hoping a second place could be such a superb result here but when I headed for the pits I had forgotten the room had been reloaded between race1 and race2 and so that area was completely green compared to the rubber it had at race1. That caused me to go wide and kiss the wall just enough to get a 79sec pitstop repairing the left front suspension. The remaining 8 laps where quite boring driving in no man's land finally finishing 5th or 6th, don't quite remember.

ops, you are right, I remember that now, the bad news is that I touched with someone else then, and I don't know who.

And to be honest, I think that all my troubles on the first race were caused by my own lack of concentration, I can't blame anyone or anything else.

Now Cosimo, what you were thinking?
You lost it at the left turn, you went wide, I took the inside and you rammed me out, making me have a 93sec pitstop at 1st lap 1st race.
Please take it easy, thats not a way to behave.

I have had some strange problems with this track , when I first drove f1 here on a rubbered in track I had absolutely no grip , I couldn’t turn in or it spun out , I couldnt even get the power down on the striaghts without breaking traction and spinning off , it was as though it was a wet track it was that bad , I was on the point of missing this race when I decided to see if it was the same for f2 , I went out in f2 and the grip was there and it was a nice track to drive , went back to f1 and I had grip ???

During the racing I discovered that if I had a car near me going into the complex after the pits , the frame rate dropped dramatically and I couldn’t turn or brake properly , this cleared by the time I got to woodcote and was ok for the rest of the lap

Going off lap times I was not expecting greater than 6 or 7th and that’s how it turned out , wasn’t really happy on this track but I was satisfied with what I got .


Race 1

Got a good start and dropped in behind H , went into the complex and all hell broke loose with my car , she wouldn’t brake or turn properly and was all over the place , I thought something had broken , to compound the problem whilst wrestling with the car I selected neutral , the poor guy behind me (Cookie I think) must have been having a nightmare wondering what the hell I was doing , fortunately I gathered it up and got going not loosing any places , saw H and G battling ahead and was slowly catching them , but found I had the same problem each lap at the complex and started to approach it more tentatively , G went wide so I followed H through , we stayed this way until lap 6 when I went for my pitstop , G followed me in but was a lot faster than me and rear ended me which spun me , fortunately no damage occurred , pitstop (43sec) went OK , the rest of the race went ok , I had G behind me for part of it but I could see he was struggling to stay with me so I felt ok apart from the ongoing problem with the complex , saw G go off so I just relaxed , without him near me I could take the complex fine , had a scary moment near the end when Jesus and Nikos tangled at turn 1 just in front of me , fortunately they spun away from the line I was on .

Race 2

Started ok missed the carnage , handled the complex better this time and was 4th , chased by H , was managing to hold him then the flying Dutchman arrived and made short work of the pair of us , pitted on lap 6 and managed to spin on the green pit lane luckily no damage , came out on a clear track but then saw Bart appear after his stop , he chased me down and went for a kamikaze late brake into Brooklands but lost it and tagged me , fortunately I held it and carried on , he caught me again a couple of laps later and did it cleanly this time at same place , followed him home .

Qauli- was happy to make it to the top 10

Race 1- totally uneventful for me- raced around , pitted , had a bit of a battle with rick Neumen(sp)- in the end got a good 7th place

Race 2 - I was a little nervous at the start with 6 fast cars behind me. Well i got a great start and was just grabbing the next gear when a car flew through the air - landed on me and bounced me through the air- tumbling- flying - taking people with me - I landed on the other side of the wall and got dq'd trying to get out of it.

I was a little pissed at the incident but have no idea if it was anyone's fault- the person who it me was not to blame for hitting me - their car was flying through the air for some unknown reason- i assume an incident happened mid field at the start

well the first race was fun anyhow
