Lecram Wrote:But did you define your pitstop in your setup screen? If it says 0 liters at stop 1 then you will get 0 liters. I assume you used my set and I'm fairly sure I had set it to zero for all 3 stops.

OOPS WHATS THIS

I did use your setup :'(

I'm sorry Niko. You raced two and a half season and never defined how much fuel to be added when pitting? :-\

Lol @ 'Rainbow Road' DJC haha, thats exactly what I call RFs moody HDR too lol.

The race, this was the most spectacular and demanding race I have ever done in RF, I sucked and did poorly, but I loved it.

I was not even planning to start, so bad was my performance on Saturday practice. Friday I run OK, Saturday I practiced for hours and never even completed a timed lap. I completed 2 outlaps only without damage that's all. It was a truly shocking performance and probably my worst night ever on RF.

I give it a quick run out on Sunday, I was running much better, so I started the race as it turns out, and anything beyond this point was gonna be a bonus. My goal was not to finish last, and I figured 12th was the maximum possible result I could have hoped for under the circumstances.

I was carrying damage for most of the race! Soon as I got it fixed it was damaged again lol before too long. I made many mistakes, and received additional punishments too I could have done without, finished 15th.

After one round of damage repairs I was an innocent victim in the Nikos crash. Like Nikos said it was nto his fault, I found him stationary in the road, I took 75% of my speed out the car before contact, again I was badly damaged and two more cars joined in the pile up from behind.

I hear some of you claim to have made comical pitstops, well cheer up guys cause mine were worse lol...

I got the pit box right in front of them vertical rails located on the grass verge in the pit. I got a 130 second repair job done, hit the gas and BANG im straight into them barriers within 1 sec of leaving box! It was a real sickener, I was badly damaged. I did not realise that barrier was even there.

So I limp around for two laps, come in for 152 sec of repairs, hit the gas and.... ah jesus I did it again! UNBELIEVABLE!! No excuses for the 2nd one, I know the railings were there.

I lost plenty of time by myself, if tho I was to deduct the pit lane comedy and Nikos crash out of it, I would have got my 12th place optimal finish I reckon, so I'm glad of that. I have never been so pleased with 15th place, I was delighted just to have finished in fact.

REALLY felt for Robert Hedlund who appeared to have rf2 crash on him whilst he was leading. Thats truly sick, an even tougher break than my pitstop repair/insta-wreck jobs.

This was a fantastic race, like the guy above I hope it will be held again too, many thanks SR4L for such a memorable event.

Choosing 40% damage was genius! It caused significant time loss while at least allowing one to get back to the pits. I'd bet it was a major factor in having only 3 DNFs on this treacherous track. It certainly helped me out twice.

My race was unremarkable in it's results (P12) but certainly the most personally rewarding Ring event I've ever been in. I NEVER do more than 3 laps without trashing my car. I had no reason to think Sunday would be any different. But somehow I managed to race 10 laps ( a complete race) with only one unforced major off. (I clipped the earthen ramp at Nikki Lauda's kink just barely keeping from going airborne.) I did have a couple fairly low speed collisions with drivers who bobbled in front of me. But the 40% damage setting allowed my race to continue. (I'm hazy on a lot of this since I have no replay)

The most amazing things for me personally are: 1 - I raced 80 minutes at a track I have always hated and has always had my number. And 2 - I enjoyed it very much!

To any guys I tagged... sorry! I know in the first incident (lap 2 or 3) I saw you going squirrely and was trying to predict a safe route. Possibly I could have jammed my brakes quicker and harder but that's often risky itself. With only 3 race DNFs I suppose (hope) you were not knocked out.

Edit: Niko you are not the only one! I didn't know you could set a race fuel strategy. I'm still stuck in the GLP mode where every refueling matches the starting amount. I guess I need to explore the options a little more! :-[

Edit 2: Was anybody else's ass numb when this thing ended! I must get a softer seat if we are going to do any more of these endurance races.

Lol after the race my shoulder and my legs did hurt, i think it was because off the muscletension due to concentration (or call it fear ???). Had nothing to do with my position or seat.
As far as the endurance races go, it's a BIG yes for me.....i say let's do le mans a 2 hour race (set to 24 hours) in Howstons or for the change it could also be the BES cars....

Hello everyone,

Amazing race, sorry about Hedlund software crash.
It was so long that I lost track of time and lap count, at the end my eyes were so tired and my body too,..I changed slightly my position on the chair and that caused one of my two last errors at the end of the race, lol

My report:
Qualy: I got out with fuel for 5 laps, driving at safe pace during the out lap, passing another driver at the end right before the main straight to start my fast lap. 100% throttle at the main straight tried to brake as late as possible...error, missed my braking point, spun just before the first chicane. No damage and no additional error: 7:50, not enough...luckily on my second lap I followed vittorio that did a good lap, I was catching him at the end of the lap hoping for a great slipstream...two corners to go but made a little error ...grrrr: 7:35:XXX close to my PB...good, John was to far away (below 7:30) and George Mallis a few tenths behind and no time for another lap. 8 position in the grid.

Race:
Good start for my standards Smile no position lost, I think...drivers in front seemed not to suffer cold tires, couldn't follow them.
Lost track of laps, didn't make any mistake until I saw Hectari on the mirror, wow, where did he come from? what about his problems with the setup? lol.
He was too fast for me, I did a little mistake trying to go faster and Hectari passed me easily. Then, trying to get him, I went wide on another corner, touched slightly the wall, small damage and very soon Hectari was 10seconds away. Then something happened, I was cutting time, almost catched him at the main straight when he entered the pits.
I did a very good 2 laps before my pit stop, free of errors. My pit stop was perfect, just 50 seconds, damage included. At pit exit George Mallis was about 25 seconds behind and I was 7th or 6th...really good!
I wondered were was Hectari...answer arrived too soon, I saw him 24 seconds behind and 5 laps to go. I don't think my pace was good enough so I tried to go faster and was able to almost complete good 3 laps, including my personal race fastest.
So far so good, Hectari was 20 seconds behind and less than 3 laps to go...then I missed the entry of the big karusell and was able to avoid wall, but on the exit, trying to recover speed too quick, tank slapper... avoided wall again but ended on the grass looking backwards, 10 seconds lost and small damage. Hectari was 10 seconds behind, almost 2 laps to go...really tired, Hectari was my personal nightmare Tongue
Almost one lap to go, really under pressure, I did another mistake, don't remember where between karrusells, again on the grass, more damage but drivable car, Hectari was there, 1 second behind!
Something happened to him again, I was able to finish without him catching my slipstream...

5th at the end...really happy!

Thanks SR4L

Hi all,
First of all FULL RESPECT to the real drivers that could lead these cars on this track in circumstances outside the reasonable!
Really AMAZING!!

Second RESPECT to all us we've been able to accomplish such a difficult and painful but absolutely FUN race!!!

For me that type of races was unfamiliar experience and after about a 1 1/2 hour race I did not want to never ends this!!

My Race Report:

Qualy:
After 3 failed attempts, I went out and made two excellent rounds (for my skills), achieving my PB 7:36:00.
9th position in the grid.

Race:
Before start the race, I drove my car with full load (approx. 85 liters) and to my surprise I discovered that the car behaved better than that with less weight.
So my confidence are high and I had a very good start for my standards trying to pass Jesus without success.
In first lap I lost my concentration in carousel so I hit the wall with damages in my right front and rear suspension .
I decided to make an earlier pitstop at 1st lap to fix the damages.
My pitstop was clear just 57 second include tyres, refuel and repairing the damages.
At the pits front of me was Hectari and at the exit we had a brief battle which finally won few turns later.
I lost some places and I was at the 12th position if I remember well, and then the race starts again from the beginning for me!!!
I had very good laps (all under 8:00:00) and so I managed to find even in 7th place with Marcel behind me!!!
After around one lap Marcel catch me easily and I let him to pass me without any fight.
Unfortunatelly I had no tyres (55% front - 70%% rear) because my very early pitstop.

Almost 2 or 3 laps to go my driving and my feelings was outside of reality like someone else was driving my car and not me.
I avoided the mistakes, delight was great, despite the physical exhaustion.

Finaly 8th and very happy!!!

Thanks all!
Thanks SR4L!!!

I hardly felt my buttocks by the end of the race, I'm still getting used to the new driving position and the new seat.

I am really looking forward for a Le Mans race, but preffer a multiclass event.
Howstons have a problem as I read at Isi forum, and it's they are lapping a lot quicker in automatic than in manual, so I wouldn't like a race only using this cars.

You mean automatic clutch? Auto shifting should be easy to ban Tongue

But I know what you mean. I'm using h-shifter and clutch while Robert is using auto-clutch, and he seem to have a little advantage when racing Howstons in the USR league, compared to this league. He was a few tenths faster than me at Mid-Ohio last week and I'm sure I'm loosing some time with the manual clutch. But at high speed tracks like Le Mans I think the difference is not as noticeable. I'd love to do a endurance race at Le Mans with the Howstons Big Grin It would be fun if we had driver swaps and I could team up with Robert becuase then we could use the same pc 8)

Btw, I think it's interesting to check statistics from the races but unfortunately our league site is not working atm. So if someone is interested, I have uploaded the results file to simresults.net

And... I've been playing around with the trail-version of adobe premiere pro in the week and ended up with a little movie with footage from our Nordschleife race. Great way to learn the software Tongue
Unfortunately I had performance issues with our special version of the track, when watching replays. And replay fidelity is not very good even with max settings, especially not when watching opponents... And youtube destroyed the quality. But, enjoy Tongue

It was quite fun, so if someone knows a powerful video editor that is not so expensive, let me know. Hopefully I can make better movies in the future. This was my first try.

I wanted to try this one (did read about it and it is for profesional video editors) but untill now didn't find the time for it.
It is for free so that couldn't be the problem to try it. (could be a trial version also duno) So here's the link:

Wow! Awesome video and funny too, thanks!

I wondered what was Cosimo doing, going back and forth in the pits, but already read the reason, that was really bad luck! I never had a problem with the pit at this track, always had only one at the same place.

First time I read "AutoLift" in a driver, what does it actually do?

I like the fact that, after whatching the video, Rikard's driving style is very similiar to mine (compared to DjC and Marcel's driving styles), also the way his car behaves. This gives me the confidence to keep on working the car to find the best posible setup to be fighting back at the top (I should need more time to practice than what I have).

Autolift for the throttle, so you don't have to lift when shifting up while using autoclutch Tongue :Smile You can enable it in the plr file

I think, at this level of racing, things like autoblip and autolift should no be allowed (I agree auto-cluth can be used by people who can't/don't want to use/don't have manual gearings/clutch pedal, but I consider the others as an unneccesary aid)
