Welcome to Sim Racers 4 Life Fun Events.


This is the Pre Season official Fun Event. It's time to race the cars of the upcoming Season: Eve F1, Spark F1, Matra V12 and the BT20. Feel free to choose the car you are more comfortable with and start getting used to driving it and setting up the different options available.
We will be racing Sao Paulo, a well know track by everyone, a very complete track with a all type of corners and straights. Come and join us.

I've had a first contact with the BT20 and I didn't remember it to be so tail happy when we raced it the last time, having lots of "moments" in this very first test.

Is fascinating the way this cars have to drive and the way to fine tuning it. I love this sims, so close and at the same time so a improved version of the original GPL.

Macht every thing I remember have read in the 60s and early 70s, when I was a teen.

This champ will be something special. Too short perhaps (je je).

The BT20 doesn't like to be pushed too hard at the throttle or you get a sudden oversteer at corner exit. It's a constant battle with the car, but when you start getting used to it, it can lap nicely.
Imposible to be full throtle the whole uphill "straight"

Eve neither, but the only way this cars make a decent turn is by using the right foot, the steering wheel seems to be there just to correct trayectory.

Paul, Dj, we are having problem to see other people's skins at the server, any posible idea why? Anything server configuration related?

Wheel broken, this afternoon, while racing Sao Paulo fun event, my steering wheel started to do strange moves and soon after the start of the second race ( been on P1 my friend!) kind of colapse.

Hope to find a replace soon.

I don't know if it was track related but in the BT20 it is a constant battle with the wheel when on throttle, having to deal with overheating rear tires if not too carefull.
Let's see how it handles in Road America.

For Tim and rest who couldnt come:

Sascha and Billy showed up, along with the two Dans, John, Santiago, Gorka, Paul and me.
Only Gorka and Paul drove Brabhams, the rest all F1Bs, no Spark.

The two Dans shared top quali, doing almost same 2:38.
I managed a 42 and was very happy with it, Sao Paolo is a difficult place for me, I overshoot mant bends, especially T1 and I really get confused in the slow parts of the track.

Race 1 was Sascha's race with Bayford second and Paul out with computer problems again.
Sascha left between races, Birtwell came but he left too searching for his lost [SR4L] tag. He joined race after a while with a Brab but quitted soon.

Reverse grid and I was in the front.
Santiago darted in front of me but just a bit later he crashed spectacularly in front of me, going vertically out of the road, his wheel broken as you read above.

Race 2 was Billy's race, well done Bill!

Thats all, we do have a skin problem, hope we solve this soon.

The G27 was supposed to be stronger than that. I guess it won't be easy to find spare parts (or at least only the wheel without the pedals).

Not so, I use to build simulators fron time to time (8 up as today) and always put G27 on it, never last more than 2 or three years of hard work. Usually because the pedals but in two cases was because the wheel.

Anyway, my pedals were on its last days too, Trottle mainly.

I find a rebate, a new G27 for 200 little green monsters.

I think its a bargain, new G29 costs double that and its the same wheel.
