Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to another season of our Historic Leagues.
This season we race the Brabham BT44. Fast, handles nice and brakes good. This 1974 car has huge rear wheels and adjustable front and rear wings which can bring a lot of different race strategies.
This time we race in Zandvoort. Fast, medium, slow corners. A fast straight plus all type of brakings (uphill, downhill, midcorner,....). This track has it all and will require your best skills through every lap you take. Front tire managing can be critical here if you attempt to do no pitstop.

I was about to do my first serious practice today.
Just was about two laps on the car when the phone rang. My boss called me to go to work to fix some issues at a server. All evening lost. :'( :'( :'(

It's race day and I've spent all weekend playing Doom.
Time to decide what to do:
No pitstop (very risky)
1 pitstop (common sense)
2 pitstops (doable but traffic dependant)

Try checking wether you have other zandvoort versions installed.
Also on Steam, right click Rfactor2 and somewhere in there there's an option to verify all your local files.

Please, remove me all my staff privileges. After today's joking race I quit.
I'll remain as any other driver around.
Race starts withouth a warm up, straight from qualy.
Everybody asking for the warmup session, I try backing off, only thing I get is passed.
Then Nikos restarts race but again we get no warm up session. people asks for it, race starts, nobody does nothing, I drive expecting warmup to be set, looking at the messages. But everybody doing as if nothing happened.
I'm very angry at this moment. This is no serious at all.

well gorka - i agree with you...... but would hate to see someone who has done so much for this league not be involved. you would be greatly missed.
i was going to rant myself being caught out in the whole race - warmup issue, but will hold off for now - hoping to not fuel the fire - give it some time and i hope you feel better about this.
it will be a lesson to learn though - we have practice, qualifying and a WARM UP, then race......... i was defiantly caught out by this, as i found myself in the garage while you guys were on the starting line.. that is many hours of practiced down the drain and i was up to fifth or something in first race before it was aborted....... now - DNF!

hmmm, that was a bit "different" today.
R … I had 2 proper starts, each time on P4 after Turn 1. However, the spirit of the race did catch up with me. After 2 or 3 laps, already running 2nd after some mayhem in front of me, I got pushed out of the corner in a rude manner. Dan, that wasn't cool and definitely not a place to overtake :-\
Sorry to all which had to avoid (or even crashed) into as I was pointing in the wrong direction
Anyway, keeping the race spirit up in high esteem, I continued my race and had a very good run from the back of the field up to P5 after changing tyres.
At the end, my screen just freezed when catching up on Santiago. Hmm, a pity, that would have been a nice battle.
Well, another day, another race.

Gorka rethink your anger for now it was just lack of a proper server set up. We do need to address it for sure. I vote we ignore that race and call it a throw away since so many got caught out of habit from past.
All in favor??????????????
Even tho I got a 3rd lol.
Mistakes do happen in a small group everyone hang in there.

Gorka, shit happens.
Don't worry too much.Everybody was confused. Actually, I had no idea how to react. And seeing those in front of me going for it, so I had to do the same.
Maybe we can come up with a clear rule for when a race will be restarted. I guess we do not have to consider too many scenarios. A warm up not happening could be one clear reason.

Every one take a couple of days to breathe. It was the same for everyone.
I remember many seasons ago (Fergy was still around) a race at Monza where at the start there was a massive lag/freeze that wiped out the back half of the field, including me of course. Some called for a restart, but it did not come. There was scolding afterward about chatting during the race. But the results counted.
In time we will forget about it. It is competition for sure. But really, it is just a game.
No one wants to see Gorka step back. Gorka listen to your friends. And your elders

I got screen freeze on lap 25 and went out of the game.
About start problems, I want to say that I dont have a working keyboard while driving, so I cant vote or say hello while on track, but I think this kind of problem can be fixed by the Administrator, one that must be present in the race with the authority to stop it and restart it.
Please Gorka, dont go.

About the Administrator being present, he is there 99,99% all the time, seems tonight he couldnt, we wont blame him ehh?
Look at your wheel, it has buttons.
In game, in Settings, you can assign buttons to actions, not very complicated, start a thread to ask how.

Believe me Nikos, all of my wheel buttons are assigned, I have six and need more...ja ja
Problems are part of life, they will be always there, so I think better to take it easy.
And start thinking in the next race...dont you?

Please Gorka stay!!!!!
But come on guys rule has always been there will be no restarts. And really most of us went for the grid so you knew it was race time, as if warm up is going to change things....duh. i've been around here for a while also and i only once had one race restarted by admin because a lot of peeps died in the first lap.
Admin is always right!
Tonight it was Admin Nikos and he did well by restarting the warmup. Everybody knew there wasn't going to be a warmup No? server settings weren't changed and again everybody went for grid.
In the end all problems come down to this being a shitty version of Zandvoort, don't get me wrong here i like the track, but this .85 version sucks big time half of the lap you can't even see where you or your opponents are. There is another version around and as soon as i find the downloadlink i will post it here.
Again Gorka please stay and do what you do. This joke wasn't you or the one who set the server up......it was all of us.
And as far as the results go, well coun't them or don't i don't care my race wasn't good but it was nice meeting you all on track again.
