Round 6 - Historic Sandervoerde

Firstly! The UK clocks finally Spring forward on Sunday and so the race times will be an hour earlier than so far in the season for those that are already on Summer Time clocks…. Races (Sun and Wed) still remain pinned to 7:30PM ‘UK time’.

Race length: 35 laps (estimated) based on 1’14” lap times.
Min laps for points: 4

Special notes for this round:

Pit lane speed limit will be raised to work around an issue with the pit lane boundary. Also take care when exiting the pits and observe the blend line as originally
http://intended. For full d...um.

Update: This is a very tricky (but brilliant) track. Sunday drivers are reminded that the repair times for even quite significant damage is not high - a front nose/wing can be done in less time than 4 tyres with luck.

Persevere (but stay out of the way if limping to the pits).

…without wishing to be rude or condescending, Bruce, pitching up on the night is a teeny-weeny bit risky…. Wink

true, but for ages any items I did not have have always downloaded when I joined the server. I guess I'll just have to start trying to find the stuff earlier again.

It should’ve worked - the track is in the right place on the sever but, as we know, that’s not necessarily enough for rf2…

Two rounds left - plenty to play for! Big Grin
(Also, this track is about as easy to negotiate as Spa or the Ring - I doubt many will have a clean race!)

It was a good event for me. I think I got all my crashes out of me in the Wednesday night practice races where I did many Big Grin, but none today Smile.

Yes, that pit speed limit problem was odd. Happy Ron spotted it in Warmup and told everyone about it.
400 KPS in Practice and Qualify, but 100 KPS in Warmup and Race.
There is only one place to set it in the Multiplayer.json file.
What I think what happened, is because we use an edited .rfm server mod file I think the game used the settings from that for race.
There are 2 lines in that .rfm file called :
RacePitKPH = 100
NormalPitKPH = 100
this is something to keep an eye on when making the server mod, Myles.

Points looking close with Dan and me. Will Dan crack under the pressure? Big Grin.

I usually pop onto the server before the race to check I have all that is needed. I just forgot this time and was hoping for the above. Pity because I rather like the old Spa and Ring. Had a go on AC instead, did a race at Imola followed by a lap of the Ring in a Cobra.

Oh! I never bother to check the .rfm as a rule… Yep, worth noting for non-standard limits etc.

Was a disaster for me, and wiped out Dan as part of it. "Hey, did that brake marker say 100 on it? Uh oh!" I also discovered the pit lane speed problem in the race as I was the first to pit, after taking off the front wing in the final corner, and got a stop and go, not that it mattered, as a few more spins and offs were in my future.
