Sim Racers 4 Life welcomes you to round 6 Season 4 of our Historic's League. This round see's us at DJC's and Tosh's great conversion of Nordschleife Tourist for a ninety minute event and promises to be an action pack event. After our longer than expected summer break after the problems with the server this will prove to be a great event to resume our season. Big thanks to Cosimo for putting up his backup server while our server was down. This event calls for a cool head and a steady pace to last the full ninety minutes round this demanding track.

SR4L wishes you good luck for the season.

Please postpone for one more week. I really need to practise very hard to even be able to drive more then 2 laps at an acceptable speed

Autumn or Summer, no idea. Autumn has the better looks with all it's long shadows, but Summer has the crowds to watch us race. More FPS for the Summer layout due to shorter shadows.

erm, both please. :p

For me it's ok to postpone and it's ok to do it this weekend. No problems.
1.5h of Nords with these cars is going to be super fun, assuming I don't crash at lap 1 :-)

Since we're doing it next week, we could have a fun event this Sunday?
Maybe I could make up for my lost races at Monaco or 66 Spa? :-)

An hour and a half?!!? Are you kidding me?!! :o This will force me to park my car after 5 laps, stand up and walk around to restore blood flow to my buttocks, and then resume the race! What's one minute lost in a 90 minute race if I can retain the use of my butt?? ;D

LOL you just reminded me I have to use extra pillow for my butt for that race :S

How fast can you guys go on the long straight at Nords? I can only hit 173mph just before the bridge with very low fuel (172 when the hill starts). My 5th gear is 1.15 (3.97) and the final is 3.44:1. Revs level off at 8500 so it seems they haven't hit the limit. The resistance just seems to win the battle.

This event is now postponed for one week. We will be racing on the 7th Septmeber at the summer layout.

There may also be an updated version of the track released before then if DJC and Tosh manage to get it done before then. But as DJ said over at ISI it will be ready when its ready.

And not to forget there might be a new build also :Smile with new contact patch and so on and so on.......

Makes me think......will the set-up we make also be good in the new build.....or do we decide to run the event in the build we have now e.g. 798

your thoughts on this please gents

My figures for engine power from motec:

@7000rpm - 300hp

@7500rpm - 307hp

@7900rpm - 311hp (max power Wink)

@8000rpm - 309hp

@8500rpm - 299hp

If you don't use motec you can have a look at the power curve(along with many other useful things) with CarStat 2, really cool tool: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/21325-CarStat-2

Viso's Car Stats site is another if you just want to look at it on your browser, though he's not updating it further because of CarStat2 being able to read all vehicle files: http://www.carstat.viso36.es/index.php?selector=bt20 you can change it to English in the top right.

I haven't checked my top speed but you should gain 1 to 3 mph if you go at lower revs (around 8200-8300rpm when on top speed is where I've felt when we raced Brianza and Belgium it goes fastest).
Also ride heights are important in top speed. Having the front and rear at the same height from the tarmac gives the least drag

Has something changed with the latest update? I can't drive this car anymore...lol. Maybe it's just the extraordinary slippery tarmac at Nords that requires a totally different setup..? The rear is loose all the time. When going through medium speed corners without touching the throttle I can create oversteer only from using the steering wheel. Really wierd feeling that I have not experienced before. I've tried to add more understeer but doesn't help...maybe I need to add extreme understeer? Well...luckily I have one more week to test.

Can't wait to resume the league. Let's hope to have a new version of the Nordschliefe by DJ & Tosch. Smile

I see the damage set on 20%, this may help to finish te race.

Nords is wonderfull, but Brabhams are very difficult here, back steps out all the time.
Good decision by Paul the 20% dammage, perhaps the only way to finish here.
