The wall at Virage du Tertre Rouge is a b***h. Running wide you think you are going to make it ... but the wall cuts inside making sure it is getting you ... ;D

thats it for tonight, all have a nice evening Smile

had high hopes, at Pauls restart I forgot to load set so race was a fight for me 28 laps with defaults had to spin out twice on lap one to realize it ran first half with damage. oh well it was long but fun finished 9. get them next season. hope Paul finds my points in the last bunch of races

I had been looking forward to this event all season.

Didn't get enough time to practice but I knew the track so thought I would be able to get by.

I didn't get a quali lap in due to a couple of ctd during quali session but wasn't worried I didn't mind starting from the back.

First lap of the race went really well managed to make up some places around some of the people that spun out. Then on the second lap I spun out and suffered damage to the rear suspension. Wasn't drivable with the back end twitching all over the place, so I headed for the pits. Got in for my 230 sec stop for damage. As I was about to rejoin only a few seconds left in the pit boom CTD Sad

To say the least I was not happy. So I spent the next two hours fixing the Brianza results.

Qualy
It all went better than I expected. I had only practiced race pace so I didn't know how much I could improve with lower fuel. It was a surprise to find myself in the pole position.

Race
Started good but had a bit of a moment at turn 1. Run a little wide at the braking so I had to cut the chicane through the gravel letting DjC pass me. Later I overtook him at one of the straights. He tried to pass me at the next straight but somehow he didn't have the top speed. From that moment I started pulling away (my car best performed at heavy fuel) while I watched both Davids battle through my mirrors.
Some laps later Robert took second place while gap was already around 9 seconds.
Laps were ethernal approaching pitstop time. I just wanted lap 14 to come and do my pitstop, meanwhile I was trying to do fuel calculations at the straights to see if fuel burnt was as calculated.
Pitstop came, 50sec and at the exit I had another moment braking for T1, same as first lap, running wide and going through the gravel.
Gap to Robert had reduced to 7sec so I pushed harder the next laps taking the most of the fresher tires.
Minutes went by constantly checking the gaps. 45 minutes, 30, 20, 10... final lap and victory.

Damn it feels so good when you win. The best way to say goodbye to this Brahman BT20.

I thought the race would feel longer but having to push hard all laps of the race (first to increase a gap to DjC and later fearing Robert's pace) made me keep concentrated and minutes passed quickly.
My left ankle resisted the two hours without complain, something than really concerned me before the race with so much clutch work.

Hi all,
I like cars without wings so I will miss this bt20...

Last Friday I was just back from 2 weeks holidays ;D when I found the announcement of the last race of the season. I had just a couple of hours on Saturday to tune my setup and get used to bt20 and lemans track. I already knew the track, but never tried with this car.
My target was to finish.

I was not able to be consistent or do a good lap time so starting from the last grid line was not so bad for a 2 hours race.
I was not even sure whether I was able to keep concentration for so long, so I went for a 2 pit stop strategy and finished the race with more than 40litres in the tank :Smile I need to review my fuel calculation procedure Tongue

After avoiding incident in first lap and getting rid of some faster drivers ;D (letting them pass) I was in a comfortable position in the middle of nowhere, so my first stint was good and I was 6-7th after my first stop at 10 or 11th lap.
Eventually some faster drivers caught me, I tried to not to put much fight and let them go, while others, in front, suffered accidents so I regained lost positions.
Right before my second pit stop Gorka overlapped me, I was 7th before pitting an peeing (too much beer?) Big Grin and 8th after that...again with huge gaps in front and behind what was a relief since I had more than 70litres of fuel.
Finished in a really good 8th position 8), sadly that was mostly due to accidents of others :-\

I am willing to start a new season and I hope to have more time to practice and fight in all events.

Thanks all, specially Paul and Nikos, for these nice racing evenings :-*

I found last nights race a little strange , I had a few ctds before the race and I got back in by refreshing the server list instead of restarting Rf2 , when it came to qually I really struggled to get into the high 10s where as in practice I could run low 9s easily , similarly in the race where I had been running low 11s with 70ltrs of fuel in practice i struggled to get into the 14s , the car just didnt work , it felt wrong but I couldnt figure why , did anyone else feel their car was different ?

Race

Started ok , got through the first corners without drama and chased after DJ , we swopped positions a few times over the next few laps , I could see I could lap quicker if I could get past him and into the Porsche curve and esses before him as I was faster through that section , whilst DJ and I were squabbling Richard took the opportunity to close us down and pass , we both chased after him but we were slowing each other with our fighting , I at last got into position and passed DJ on the approach to Indianapolis but made a mess of the braking and lost the back end and spun gently into the barrier , this caused slight damage but car was ok .
Chased after DJ who now had a few seconds over me , I was slowly closing him down again but then made the same error in the same place 3 laps later , this time I seemingly gently brushed along the barrier but this did a lot of damage , decided to pit early as car was handling very badly , pitstop went ok and I came out behind Dave Hart .
I chased after him and was catching him quickly , on the approach to the first chicane on the Mulsanne my head was away with the fairies , I totally missed my braking point and just stood on everything and kept the car striaght and across the chicane praying I didnt torpedo Dave , fortunately he went clear , he pitted that lap and I was in clear air .
I was still in 4th some 16 secs behind DJ so I started chasing and got the gap down to 9 secs , I then started to have doubts about my fuel and started to try and conserve it , got down to 5 mins and I knew my fuel would not make it so decided on a splash and dash , I had 90 secs over Dave Hart so I thought my position was safe , did the stop but got a drive through , fortunately I took this on the last lap and crossed the finish line like Schumacher did in the pitlane . Great race and good fun .

Well done DJ you are a very worthy Champ , I claimed 3rd place in the championship my best ever result at SR4L (sry Cookie) so I was well pleased . But DJ I think you should watch this instructional video before the next championship https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_3rf7A-sr0

BIG thank you to Paul and Nikos for all the hard work they put in to give us this great championship , well done guys .
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

I did, it felt more slippery, don't know if temperatures on track were different.
That's why I felt surprised when getting pole position, I expected faster times considering what had been seen during the previous days.

Qauli- did my first lap at 416 then got ready for a speedy lap - in the 15's or 14's (my pace for the last 2 weeks ) - when i came upon a slow car "smith" who stopped dead in the line heading onto mulsane - quali ended.

Race - the start was a mess from mid field down - everyone jostling for position - you would have thought it was a 1 lap race - i was trying just to hold my line and position behind cos and mel

well cosimo got into mel trying to pass in t3 - i slowed to go around and got rammed by tim- bouncing me into ed and spinning him out - then i got slammed by paul who could not stop - a nite at the pinball arcade

yellow usually means there is a crash but everyone just kept powering through -i saw several others off on the first lap so assume it wasnt just me -

I did the first half of the race with a broken car - after a few laps i caught a crowd and got into the back of ed in the brake zone - sorry ed- i could not slow enough despite slowing more than usual - i tried to miss the crash by swerving to the right but it was too late - i went off on the grass to the right but i think ed went into the wall- :'(

after my pit (144 seconds )- i crashed in the esses and needed more repair 80 seconds

a few spins near the end put me behind nikos who i managed to get past after a couple attempts finishing 10th ....not my best outing and not how i wanted to finish the season ..

looking forward to the next one Smile

Since I've played this kind of games for about 7 years, it is very fun and challenging but once in a while I will get a rest, then I will come back again. And that happens for no particular reason. I just wanted a break from playing rFactor 2 for a while. So I came back to the last race of the season and looked forward to it, because I did some practice days before and I managed to build up some confidence again. Also, this version of Le Mans is one of my favorites. 8) It went well and I "polished" my setup a little, from alot of oversteer to just a little made me go faster and faster, from something like 4:12s to 4:09s.

Qualify: I joined qualifying kind of late and didn't wanna push so hard becasue I was not able to warm up. But around 4:10 - 4:11 put me in 3rd position which was good.

Race: I do often have problems with getting too much/too little wheel spinning in the starts, but this time it went pretty well. Though I didn't keep my position up to first corner, I was 4th or 5th but I could take it back again. Chasing Coyne and Cruickshank in a comfortable gap a couple laps and keeping my position went fine, and when I looked back I didn't see anyone in 5th position so something happened in the beginning I guess? :o Anyhow, a few laps later Cruickshank and Coyne were still fighting and I closed the gap, so when we were in the 1st corner again, I planned to go overtake on the inside, but both of them braked too late and went out in the gravel, so from there I kept my 2nd position to the finish flag.

The 2 hours race really went fast but wasn't comparable to our "normal 30 min races", because afterwards I noticed how tired I was from keeping my concentration for so long. So finally, this was a great, challenging way to finish the Brabham BT20 season! Though I missed many races, I'm still happy because I've had some great moments and my race results have been better than I expected, and way better than the F1 Eve last year. Thanks SR4L for a nice league and see you again! Smile

Was a great race, if only a bit lonely.

I'd like to apologize for the contact on lap 1 with Mel.
I thought I would be able to avoid touching, but no.

David Hart was flying, as was everyone ahead of me.
Managed to keep Christoph behind me.
Finished 6th, not bad for a 2h race.
