If was a great nights racing, some intense moments out on track on a track you just never feel 100% sure of finishing a lap let alone a full race add to that three of them.
Race 1, Seeing Gorka and Nikos drop out just before the start was disappointing. My start was good although DC jumped me I felt comfortable in P4 and could see what was going on ahead of me. After Marcel and DJ crashed out it was down to DC and I to battle it out for first place. It was neck and neck until I pitted, I had a good stop but came out in traffic in P4. I had to make a couple of passing moves and the run down from Casino to Mirabeau was the best place for it. I chased Everon for a couple of laps before making the a move on him, we did touched and he did bounce of me but the replay shows I was clearly in front. One of the hardest things with passing or being passed is to know where exactly the other driver is left or right of you and this was a case of that. Sorry Everon for the seemingly pushy move.
I was surprised when I saw myself in front and I thought DC after his stop would hold the lead as I had only manage to get one clean lap in after my stop. The battle continued right up to that last lap were unfortunately for me I put it into the drink. Opportunity missed
to win a SR4L race, not an easy thing to do given the standard we have. Great effort from DC really love the rivalry, congrats on your win
Race 2, Starting from the mid field I see Marcel and DJ playing 8 Ball and I was unable to avoid the incident and damage my car. I elected to come in early for repair and to my surprise it was just 88 seconds. I came out somewhere near the back of the field and thanks to some generous drivers letting me through and the occasional pass I managed finish fourth. Big well done to J Cook on his podium finish.
Race 3, My best for the night in terms of consistent laps. A massive amount of action on the opening lap, somehow got through it at the chicane it was pure luck really I could not see a thing with all the smoke, car parts and bodies lying everywhere. End result, a podium and a small consolation for R1's disappointment.
Well done to all competitors. If you can race this mod on this track you sure have some skill. Pat yourselves on the back, I just did
