Hope feelings will change the next day Gorka, you been doing a great job here. Sorry I have not said more thanks for all your hard work in the passed.
Not fully sure how you were expecting the server to be fixed when Paul was not there to remote link to the server, you should have just raced like normal. Not sure what Paul could have done anyway. I have a Marshall password that lets me do simple things, but does not let me turn on a warm up session that is off. When I was on the grid for the first race, things were going through my mind, Do I restart warmup, but I know that only gives you 30 seconds warm up, no point there I'm thinking:/. Or, Do I restart weekend, but that would mess up the grid. Not a lot I could do. Nikos did well to restart warmup, even if it's just the default 30 second one. Sorry we did not do it sooner. But after the restart, not sure why anyone would have further issues. You get 30 seconds warmup, then 35 seconds sat on the grid. It's more than enough time to load any setups. We could sit there Vote restarting it again and again and again, but how long do you need to load a setup or I'm not sure what?.

dj........
would be Great if i knew everything you just said - Before the end of qually. i need time to get ready for a race - sorry for being an OLD guy with Prostrate problems, hour long races are a MOTHER BEAR! had i known there was not going to be a warmup, i would have cut my qually short to make my pitstop (so to speak ) instead we jumped right to race.... then when that race was aborted and i seen warmup on my screen - i think, oh great, they realized we didn't get a warmup and i got 5 minutes, so time to make my run. then i come back to find we had gone straight to race..... well, that is that.... > :o i was caught out - fair is fair - that is on me. not anybody's else's fault, just what i have to deal with. i think race should count, it was a cluster, BUT - other's dealt with it fine and you guys had a good race - Congrats to all....... I sincerely hope that Gorka rethinks his position...... He is Needed and Wanted ........

Please reconsider Gorka. Everything you do is very much appreciated. We don't have many FUBAR races and this borked track doesn't help. Maybe we can use a healthier version next time, even if it isn't technically the correct era.
Jerry, I use warm-up for refreshing my drink and a last minute bathroom break too. Chairman Meow is completely forgiven for interruption which meant I had a mid quali break to do those things. Going straight to race was a bit of a shock to the system as I barely hit the grid in time for the start as I had to last minute swap out setup, wasn't sure if it was the right one. When the vote to restart the race came up I lost many places trying to find the vote key on the keyboard which is not near me when driving. I'm happy Nikos restarted it. I realised there would be no warm up for the 2nd start but at least I could double check I had correct setup and be ready for it. I would like the race to count for selfish reasons. My Zolder race was a washout due to lag and hardware issues so I had no points, I need them.

Gorka please reconsider , everyone really appreciates what you do and have done for SR4L .
This event turned into an almighty disaster for many reasons non of which are anything to do with you . Problem 1 Going striaght to the race caught us all flat footed . A lot of drivers were not ready to race Problem 2 We have always had the rule no restarts so for me i had no option but to treat each start as THE race , some of us started racing some didnt there was a lot of confusion . Problem 3 For whatever reason there seems to be a problem with these cars at this track , quite a few people , me included suffered a game freeze which ended their race . Personally I think the race should be scrapped and rescheduled to run at another track , that way nobody gains and nobody looses
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

As I remember the rule is no restarts except for technical reasons that only the admin will judge. Paul wasnt there so an admin was needed so I stepped in. It wasnt easy for me to decide this, many people think I did right, Im not sure. ![]()

You did right trying to save the situation Nikos , the problem arose due to confusion about whether we were racing or not , the only way around it was for everyone to pit and get themselves set for the race and then do a restart so everyone knew the race was on .

Ohh no, about your freeze David. I not seen one in a good number of races now. You were winning by 30 seconds ahead of me too.
I watched replay. I counted only one person that missed the race for the restart and that was Jerry. You had to pee. I was wondering as you took part in the 1st race. I now know. Very sorry you missed race . :'( The first race there was only 2 drivers still in the pits, Nikos, and Tobias. Tobias started from the pitlane when the race just started. My advice to everyone is keep driving as normal. Don't start slowing down thinking there will be a restart if problems happen there might not be a restart. In some cases there could be little an admin can do anyway, so keep driving. If the race is Red flagged, that is the only time to stop racing. Fingers crossed for next race.

I don't know how
05-12-2016, 10:56 PM
i was not ready for the race start , had to pee all race and was very thirsty with no drink - i had planned a break after quali for all that getting ready stuff :-\
i was a little hot and bothered in the moment but have calmed down , it seems that it threw many drivers out of their rhythm as i saw many including myself making mistakes that otherwise may not have been made - looking for restarts and reading chat etc i dont know about a redo or anything like that but there is cause for it Gorka you dont need to quit over it 8) growing pains is all we do need an admin to take charge of the event each 2 weeks in the points races , someone needs to be designated to do that , - i race in a couple other groups and they all have admins who can adjust server settings and that sort of thing , some of them dont race they just admin , with 20 drivers in a points series we kinda need a designated admin present

I'll explain myself.
First of all, I have no blame against Paul. If he couldn't set server to race configuration it's not because he didn't want to. I know he must have his reasons (anyway everyone has his own life situations). I don't feel anger anymore. On the other hand I feel sad and disappointed. Disappointed because I felt nobody cared about the situation, everyone was very selfish just racing for theirselves. People forgot we are more than occasional drivers that join for a race every sunday and then turn off their computer and forget it all till next sunday. I feel (or at least I felt) that we are a kind of racing family that is there everyday to talk about it, ready to help whenever trouble arouse, ready to stop a race... What happened on sunday made me felt very sad. The moment we step from qualifying straight into race was a big shock to me. I always take the warmup session as a relax moment. Breething deeply and replanning all posible race situations in my head. Going to practice a couple of starts if posible and then sitting waiting for the race to start and feeling the nervousness arising. All this didn't take place, suddenly we stepped into the race. I stood there not entering the track waiting for everybody to do the same and argue what to do. But all I saw is everybody getting on track. Nobody decided to take things easily, nobody decided to say "ok, lets back off. let some race time to go and then we restart". Race started and I tried backing off. The only thing that happened is that I just got overtaken. After Nikos forced it into restart warmup we went straight to race restart (no warmup on server config). Everybody quickly back to track, nobody in the pits waiting or speaking about it (well, a couple of drivers asked for a warmup but nobody answered). Race started again. I tried constantly looking at my mirrors and at the message board to see if people backed off or tried to restart again... Nothing happened. I went off track because of not paying attention to the track and therefore decide to exit the race. I typed some words but nobody did a thing, they just kept racing as if nothing had happened. I think this was one of thouse situations when a race must be stopped, eveybody take a moment and speak about it. Lately I've been having a very intense weeks. My wife being in a kind of depression due to work issues. Me wanting to spend as much time with her as posible I had limited time to practice or to work on the race announcements. She would always say YES whenever I told her to take an hour for my practice sessions because she knows how much I like it and she likes watching me being so cheerful whenever I came talking her about things happening here. So I've been asking her for the minimun time posible and having to take a 200% from every time I practiced. Not a problem when you're doing what you like. Personally I want to keep doing this, this brings me butterflies in my stomach all racing week, and I also have a big appreciation for many people here but I on the other hand I somehow feel a bit disappointed at this moment. (I voted "Let results of this race count". I don't race for the points, I just race for the fun and excitement of the racing. Don't even know how the race ended. I don't think there's a need to skip or a repeat the race.)
