For me this race was a reminder that, at Nords, it's driver vs the course rather than driver vs driver.
Qualied 11th. Which was a surprise to me. My goal any time I race is to finish better than I qualify. I knew that would be a tall order here.
I avoided some of the early race shenanigans and was up to 7th or 8th in the first minute of the race. Got distracted by teleporting cars and brushed up against a wall, damaging my alignment.
I thought I could survive the race with the damage -- I was only down a second or so per split, so I decided to push on with my steering wheel turned about 20 degrees when going straight. THAT delusion lasted about half way into the second lap. My car became undriveable.
So I decided to make an unscheduled pit stop. Fresh tires. Damage repaired. BUT I smacked the fence on the left on the way out of the pits and screwed up my suspension twice as bad as it was before I pitted.
Lap 3 -- I spun a number of times and dropped to 16th place. Time for unscheduled pit stop #2. Before the pit, I realized that DashMeter had incorrectly calculated the amount of fuel I was using per lap during practice. Fresh tires. More fuel. Damage repaired.
I fought my way back up to position 10 by lap 8. But, of course, I was a gallon short of having enough fuel to finish the race. SO, unscheduled pit stop 3. Tobias flew past me while I was refueling and I never saw him again. The final lap was my fastest lap of the weekend. A bittersweet victory.
Damaging my car while still in the pits immediately after repairing my car nearly made me ragequit.
RESPECT THE NORDS!

When in doubt, pass out.
