Hi all,
first of all it felt rea<lly good to sit in a well filled SR$L league field again.
I can relate to Tims feelings as my first race was also basically ended from our kiss in turn 1. Not going into whos fault it was.
However I have to accept this as part of online racing life and it will not keep me from training for the events even so it feels wasted in those moments.
After such incidents and i have quite a few to report on i just try to make it to the pit get a repair in and overturn some other drivers that ran out of luck.
Race 2 was a different thing. I managed to stay out of trouble and aprt from a self inflicted spin did not make too many mistakes. Pitting seemed to be a routine job until DJ showed up behind me squeezing himself nto the same pit.
WTF was my first thought but then I realised that he was in leading position when he entered the pit and must have been desperate when he found me in there. I recalled that he was checking and asking (pit 7 anyone?) in the warmup but honestly i dont even know how to find out the pit number and usually i have to pit early due to some damage so i did not bother to check. The entanglement of the cars was unfortunate. I was not aware that it was DJ's pit timer that was holding us back, I just tried to get detached from his car. 'It did not do much damage to my car so I kept on trying and I do not feel guilty about this as I was hold back for half a minute.
However i could complete the race afer that and still get some points. It was an entertaining evening and I am looking forward to our next race.
Best
Tobias
