I had suspension damage, body damage, car handled differently and was unbalanced.
Not a complain, I was a cheeky mare, was using a modified version of your old setup for the BT20 and Kyalami

DJ and Gorka i believe
DC, erm, well I just the SR4L adviser . If I was marshaling my first appoint would be to take points from you for rear-ending me twice in race 1 ;D. If you can make it so Tim please. thanks
As for my advising job. A lot of us had an odd pause problem near end of race 1. We had a few events each week of the same happening. I look at the clock and it's always at 8:45pm London time. I do not know if it's something to do with Steam, the server, or rF2? My advice is could we try start race a few mins early so when 8:45pm comes we have already finished the race. Or make the race a lap shorter to avoid 8:45pm.

Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Hi all,
first of all it felt rea<lly good to sit in a well filled SR$L league field again.
I can relate to Tims feelings as my first race was also basically ended from our kiss in turn 1. Not going into whos fault it was.
However I have to accept this as part of online racing life and it will not keep me from training for the events even so it feels wasted in those moments.
After such incidents and i have quite a few to report on i just try to make it to the pit get a repair in and overturn some other drivers that ran out of luck.
Race 2 was a different thing. I managed to stay out of trouble and aprt from a self inflicted spin did not make too many mistakes. Pitting seemed to be a routine job until DJ showed up behind me squeezing himself nto the same pit.
WTF was my first thought but then I realised that he was in leading position when he entered the pit and must have been desperate when he found me in there. I recalled that he was checking and asking (pit 7 anyone?) in the warmup but honestly i dont even know how to find out the pit number and usually i have to pit early due to some damage so i did not bother to check. The entanglement of the cars was unfortunate. I was not aware that it was DJ's pit timer that was holding us back, I just tried to get detached from his car. 'It did not do much damage to my car so I kept on trying and I do not feel guilty about this as I was hold back for half a minute.
However i could complete the race afer that and still get some points. It was an entertaining evening and I am looking forward to our next race.
Best
Tobias

I should compare that setup with the one I had to make from scratch and see if I'm going the good direction or completely worse.

We have race marshals? There's a subforum called penalties but I don't know whether anyone can post there.
maybe we could have a race incidents subforum where people who consider someone had a clearly avoidable crash against him/her post all posible information about the crash and therefore the incident could be discussed.
Djc, Niko, there's an #admin section within our discord channel, I think it's a great place to talk in real time about administrative stuff. Good thing is you can post in your cell phone, no need to turn on computer.

DJC I remember when this freezes started a while ago and we could see there was a dump file at the steam folder, most probably some kind of crash we all had at the same time related to that software.
I spoke about it with Paul after the race at our discord channel, we agreed to fit racing times so race is already finished and race 2 won't be started by that time, so if we get the freeze let it happen during warmup.

Disaster strikes....hoped for a better start to the season.
qually......pit lane speeding (what an idiot) so no time posted
race 1 went quite well stayed out of trouble until after pit stop... hit the wall had to stop again .
race 2 made some places so can't complain
must do better next time
Tim i know how you feel i got pushed off the track quite a bit last season
and i always try to leave space when in close racing
but it is upto the guy doing the overtake to pass safely

i found the races mostly clean and fair except at the start where there was chaos , i bumped harri in race 1 after many laps following but she was in a spin in front of me and could not avoid -
race 2 the start was a bit crazy where i was ...peeps trying to grab places with a good start , i got wrecked trying to find a space to put the car in t2 - race 2 reverse grids can go badly because of the early braking points of slower drivers - its a little tricky for the fast guys
overall - C&N rocks !!!!!

Yes indeed! C&N does rock! 8)
Botched my qualy effort throttling down a little too aggressively in the last turn so I started very near the rear. A "very good" lap would have put me around P12. But I got a good start and with a few offs by others I was in P12 by the end of the first lap. My whole race from this point on was battling Mel. He and I are pretty evenly matched with him usually a wee bit faster than me. But this time I was hanging with him. I fought hard for a several laps to finally get by him just to realize that after our pit stops he was in front of me! Huh? Again I trailed for several laps trying to find a way past. We even had an over-under move at T1 where he tried to go back under me and we touched and spun, but it was a pure racing incident. I think though that he had some minor damage (that's his claim any way! ) and with about 2 to go I got by him for good for P11.
Race 2 I started at P11. With one pass for position and several mistakes by others I quickly got to P4. Raced alone there for the whole race while the fast guys drove off into the sunset.
My P11 finish was way more fun than my P4 finish. Good racing Mel. Hope to beat you some more in the future!! ;D
P.S. Glad (sort of) to hear the server/steam or something other than my rig caused the short drop out at the end. Man that was scary!
bullwinkle Wrote:What I was saying DJ is that I didn't know you could pit beside someone else and still get service. I don't know if either one of you got damage or not because I was just spectating but It did certainly hold Tobias back from leaving his pit but again my remark was only that I didn't even know you could do it.
Maybe part of our warm up could be a mandatory pit check when needed so that doesn't happen.
Again you guys make the rules and I just drive mid pack so do what you will and its up to me to join or not join.
A good practice is for the first car that gets into the pits to stay on the left of the red box, than if the teammate pit at the same time he can go to the right and both get serviced, with the one that came first free to go without any car in the way. Of course requesting the pit stop beforehand helps because it signal to the teammate that you have requested to pit.

How can that be configured?
Remember the whisper feature at the chat window.
For example if I write "/w Nikos Hey Nikos I'll be pitting at the end of lap 12" Only Nikos will get the message. Than can be helpful for drivers sharing a pitbox to tell their strategies without letting others know.
