Very sorry!
I thought I was past you and was going to protect the inside. Other than that, how was the rest of your race?! Big Grin

No way. I clearly chopped you. Glad it was only a sim! I guess that's what fun races are for. Allows a little more daring. A chance to hone the skills.

Yes, in my view the Fun races are (partly) there to hone skills and try things you wouldn’t dare to in a championship race. They’re just ten minutes long for a reason - mistakes will happen but won’t ruin a fortnights worth of championship practice time and points.

That’s not to say people should be reckless - there has been some very close but courteous and respectful driving developing over the last couple of months and long may it continue.

There have also been some drivers who hit a string of incidents - and it’s always worth remembering that they might not have the luxury of triple monitors, head trackers, VR - or thousands of hours of seat time... The next race is only ever a few minutes away…

Wow - good numbers through the evening as a result on my event posting in the SR4L forum. Yay!

Details for next week (9th) are in the first post, but provisionally we will go to Kyalami Legends '76 and maybe Spielberg (OsterreichRing) Historic the week afterwards.

Boing! Don’t forget the fun races tonight. Gather between 7PM and 7:30 UK for 7:30 Qualy. We’ve been getting good grids recently with S397 forum drivers.

Ostereichring (Spielberg Historic) loaded as the provisional track for next week - I had it packaged ready but will test other options before final decision Thursday/Friday.

Change of heart - sticking with another contemporary track for the car - Silverstone GP 75 - same as the F1 Legends track…

Anyone know of a version of the OsterreichRing/Spielberg without the chicane?

Cracking turnout last night - 14 racers in some grids!

We're off to Zandvoort 2020/21 next - seems to work quite well (Try your CTMP - Mosport setups...)

The track has a Saturated real-road preset and we're going to try that as Static throughout the race weekend - should allay any suggestions that the track isn't consistent from one session to the next and also allows direct comparison of lap times regardless of when they were posted.

Can I please remind drivers that it is highly recommended and desirable to run CrewChief - or another 'spotter' plugin of choice - as the grids are getting quite busy and there are quite a few 'racing incidents' that might be avoidable... Wink

Was good again, thank you Smile.
JonR was easy to overtake this week, the track was wider than him for once :pCool:pCool .
Finally got Ed back. He lost no speed.

Ignore the last bit, I miss counted the brake markers Rolleyes :p.

I still have the Connection Lost after every session problem. Just so you guys not need to wait for me as long, I've been exiting and re-entering the moment the race finishes.
I un-installed my Firewall and virus checker and installed a different one just to see if that was the problem, that did not fix it.
No idea if it's my ISP closing ports after 10 minutes.
CU in next one.

I had two broadband outages - dunno if the high winds were to blame… If I disappear and can’t rejoin in the future, can you restart the weekend etc. in my place…?

The occasional messed up grids were a combination of finger trouble (forgetting to execute the batch script even though it was ready) and some occasional glitches in the script (possibly due to having to manually add joiners). I wouldn’t normally abort the start as I did once last night, but that one was particularly ‘wrong’.

Wednesday 2nd March will be at Bridgehampton!

This is a fast - but very bumpy - track. Don't wind your dampers up too much!

Well - that was a fun - but very tough evening. With a DD wheel, my arms and wrists were toast by the end of it!

Unfortunately, I had to exit one race to ban and eject one disruptive driver (‘Marco’). Don‘t forget that you can use the Whisper chat to anonymously report anyone who does not meet our driving standards:

Quote:/w [whisper to given player - can be just the first few letters of player's name if they are unique]

Not sure where to go next - I don’t think we’ve done Donington in these yet though.
